Threads daily users down 20% this week. User time spent on site is down 50%.

That is not surprising. The problem with a place people enjoy because of lack of conflict is that, there is no real need to be on it all the time. The one thing Elmo got right was that engagement will always be higher when people are angry.

What Meta needs to do now is start slow rolling out improvements. Easiest way to goose engagement for a bit. They have people signing up but they need to give people reasons to keep going.

Funny thing is Twitter engagement is still way down too. So Meta did the one thing no one else could seem to do...get people to use SM as a whole less. I know I am and most people I know are too. Interesting phenomenon to watch.

Looking over that post, I think Handy may have been hitting the sauce last night. ;-)

If you look at recent posts by me, you will know exactly who I was talking about and why. I said "Anti-Corporatists" for a reason.

I gotta admit, I thought people would have figured it out.

I'm still oblivious. Maybe I don't know this board as well as I thought.

He doesn't post much these days, but he likes to pretend he is a better liberal than all of us (yes even you!) and I believe back in the day he talked up Bob Iger quite a bit. He likes to post about films Right Wingers try and boycott and how much money they make...especially Di$ney ones. (gee I wonder why)

(recently he seemed to intimate he was a supporter of Marianne Williamson if that helps)

BTW this should have all been in the Movie thread but it was not on my feed because of a poster I blocked. I never realized that until just now so this would have all worked much better in there. My bad!

I think I tend to just dismiss those people from my mind. Like with RFK Jr.

Yeah I dont get those people at all personally. I mean whatever RFK Jr. started out as years ago is lightyears away from what he is now. I mean it is bad enough he is an Anti-Vaxxer but now he is becoming a climate denier? And liberals support him why exactly? (not many mind you) At least crystal lady votes for Biden and supports the Democratic Agenda even after she loses. RFK Jr. is Jill Stein with a more famous name.

Speaking of Texas losing…

MN’s Gov. Walz giving a little MN lingo as we passed TX to be #5 in best states for business.

Funny how being a decent place to live that treats its citizens fairly beats being a slobering whore for business and bending over for the worst cunts in your population.

MSP would be on my short list for retirement if my desert girl wasn't in the picture, but, she needs the heat, what can I say?

I do keep trying to get my daughter to move there. It's got a future, unlike anywhere south of the 40th parallel.

Given the pace of global warming, anything along the I-90 corridor and south of it in Minnesota she might find okay.

I mean, to be honest, were I 30 I would be moving to Sweden.

Very few countries ever are interesting. The UK was interesting in the 17th and 19th C. France in the 18th. The USA in the 20th. But the moving finger writes; and, having writ, moves on: nor all thy piety nor wit, shall lure it back to cancel half a line, nor all thy tears wash out a word of it.

America is played out, betrayed and sullied, and now someplace else will rise and for f-ck's sake hopefully someplace non-white for a change.

We had our chance and we were unable to hold up the torch. Others will now come and keep the game moving on, and we will become like London or Paris or eventually Vienna or Istanbul. Circle of life.

Desert in what sense? Year-round? Temp, humidity, or both? because it gets downright hot here in the summer. But it's a sticky hot. It's not so bad though. 30-60 days of hard winter in exchange for fall and spring here is 100% worth it.

I would have thought Rochester, MN to be a hair warmer than MSP, but Wikipedia disagrees. Must be the heat island.

Anyways. The winters here aren't getting worse in terms of cold.

B-tch aint happy unless it's 114 / 14% humidity.

I've tried. This is the business I have chosen.

If a church buys land with intent on building a church, but instead decides to sell the land for profit- are they taxed?

my extended fam sold the generational land - 100 acres near dx- for nothing, way below market value years ago to the church the matriarch wanted it left to- to build a church on the land. They let a few remaining family members stay on the land for another 20 years - and now the Final person just passed. Church is apparently broke and wants to sell the land - and 40 acres near by recently sold for 5m so you can imagine what 100 will net.

just despicable how they took advantage of two old people and are now going back on their wishes. And it’s a real winner of a church too

The man in the sky superstitious should lose their tax-free status, it's bullsh-t.

Christianity in America has long since passed into rightwing garbage. Tax them like any other business; it's all they are. Just some ideological trash.
