So the Chicago Purchasing Manager's Index dropped to 37.5 missing the expected 47. A PMI > 50 indicates a potentially expanding economy and < 50 indicates a potentially shrinking economy. Lowest since COVID crash and before that, the Great Recesssion.
This isn't so much a crash as a water landing where they only give lifeboats to the first class passengers. This was a planned recession. Powell openly admitted that workers had too much power so he was going to tank the economy to force people to accept lower wages and worse conditions.
