Saw people saying a lot of them have lost followers and a debate ensued over whether it was Elon deleting bots or people deactivating their accounts. My experience is that it's the latter. My own follower count has remained steady because, while a couple dozen people who were following me have deactivated I've been followed by even more ladies from OnlyFans (hey, great job going after those spammers and scammers, Elon!). Meanwhile the main list I created and follow has dropped from over 300 accounts to 266. These weren't bots. These were people I either know personally or are celebrities/brands that are quite real. I have also noticed a major slowdown in traffic on said list. A few weeks ago chatter was lively with hundreds of tweets every hour. It was impossible to keep up with at times. Now there are times where there might be a couple dozen tweets in an hour, mostly from the politically active in the UK. Unless there is a live sporting event the list is fairly quiet. I've also noticed Twitter loads very slowly on my laptop, when it loads at all. Not a good sign.
And as has been pointed out, Elon is in for a rude awakening when Google and Apple come for their cut of the $8 Twitter Blue subscriptions.
