Jets and their parts are made by Boeing, GE, Rolls Royce, or Lockheed-Martin. Not a Sweedish car manufacturer... Duh! =0P
I guess my years of playing Ace Combat has colored my expectations for fighter jet knowledge.

Also, living in Alaska has likely colored my expectations for fighter jet knowledge (when you see F-22s nearly every day…).

Well, not sure where else to put this, but it is definitely interesting living in a small town.

In NYC, the top 0.1% is 30,000 people, so they would really have no reason to interact with anyone else - that “peer pool” is all they would ever need. In my little area of ~100K, however, the top 0.1% would be quite an insular group at just 100 people. As a result, they’re forced to interact with at least those of us merely in the top 10%.

We made the decision not to partake in the fine public education system here, the exact school district where Moms for Liberty was founded. Although they are more a result of the (lack of ) culture here than a cause of it, the shit-show factor in the public schools has definitely been turned up to 11 since they came on the scene.

so, off to private school we went this fall, and almost immediately began the blizzard of birthday party invites. The week before thanksgiving, we attended a soir?e for a 5-year-old with 200+ guests, 6 Disney characters, bounce houses, magicians, musicians, a Kona Ice truck, 3 open bars, white linen catering, and a cake-cuttting ceremony hosted by a fairy princess. Oh, but the bad part was that their new house wasn’t ready in time after all, so they had to do a pivot after the invitations had gone out and host at their *old* house - a mere 17,000 immaculate square feet on its very own peninsula in the river.

Ho-leeee crap.

Today’s party was only for a 4-year-old, so it was toned down a bit, but it’s not every day that you go to a party hosted by the sister of a no-kidding, legit, A-list supermodel.

Freakin-A.

We’re going to have to rethink our plan for ice cream at the park for our son’s birthday…..and then ook into a second mortgage.

Sounds like something out of a Vonnegut novel. There's a scene in the one about the rich engineers in Ilium where a housewife has a Mozart 33 playing on 72 because all she knows it's a mark of status to play classical music. Atherton is full of them.

Send your kids to Po Camp or something to get them connected with humans. I get the feeling their peers are going to be a cross between Dead Poets Society and Metropolitan.

We all met kids like that at Cornell. Don't let that sh-t happen.

Yeah but I guarantee you the kids enjoy and remember yours more than the others, which will all blend together in the same level of spectacle. Those parents are doing it more for themselves and one-upping other parents than for the kids.
