Re: BU Season Thread II: The Resurgence
I'm with you, Bomber. Reading your post i distinctly remember her article about BC's NCAA final loss in 2007 to Michigan State. She said that Brian Boyle's poor defensive positioning led to Michigan State scoring the winning goal with 19 seconds left in the 3rd period. Boyle did have poor positioning which led to a MSU goal, but it was the tying goal with 10 minutes left. There were other blatant inaccuracies in the article, and I wrote an email about all of them (asking if she even watched the game) to the Boston Globe and received a response back from their sports editor saying something to the extent that the editor of the article should have caught the errors. I mentioned all this to my good friend who was a member of the Boston hockey media at the time and he said that she had a lazy reputation amongst the writers.
This is an ongoing issue I have with her. Let's start with Moran's break-away goal in the Beanpot final. She called it a wrister from the slot. Zero mention that it was a breakaway. Regarding the Eichel column: My understanding is the "Coming for ya, Buffalo!" video with the beer was from the fall, yet it was described as post-Beanpot. If you are going to box this as post Beanpot shenanigans, why not reference the drinking from the Beanpot video? Sloppy.
