BU Hockey '25-'26: Can we keep up the run to Vegas?

Somehow the big mistake didn’t beat us. It was a pretty good game and effort overall. I’ll give them credit tonight. Great to get the final W in the old barn! Incredible finish!

Did you know that Brandon Svoboda has more multi goal games than single goal games? This was his 4th.

The first goal was what you expect from him with the bouncing puck banged in from the dirty area, but the second one was just beautiful. Reminds fans that in order to get to this level of hockey, each player was the best player on a hockey team for multiple years of their childhood. The skill is there, they just adapt to the roles they best suit. For all that people pointed to him as a nobody on the WJC team when higher scoring players were left behind, he was the one who scored in the gold medal game to give the team life.

Fun atmosphere as expected last night. A few bad decisions and misfires were the downside of an otherwise well-played game by BU. I'd rather have those types of mistakes because this team will learn as they get experience, versus just looking lost and having no flow, like other games this season. Svoboda was due, glad to see him cash in. And barring another injury, I think we will see Boisvert emerge. Ritchie is still adjusting to playing against older guys. Roukunakis is such a great find - great all-around player.

Wow. I did NOT see that one coming. 😳😳😳. Stunning.

I almost feel bad for the NU team having to sit there in their own stink. Almost.

Huge win. Could it be a springboard? We shall see.
Four wins in the last five (could've been 5/5) despite all the health issues make optimism for second semester realistic.

Completely agree on Nick R. Every team needs a guy like this.

Adding to a great night of hockey. This is must watch. (Not shown: Macklin going after a Penguin who injured Will Smith.) - Sharks-Pens
The incident in question. They gave Wotherspoon a rough and mack a double minor for a rough and the Penguins scored on that power play.

Because it wasn’t actually a fighting major it wasn’t technically a Gordie Howe hat trick for him, but I think it counts in the spirit of it.

This team plays like it's a 90 minute game.
Really
I wish I had a photo. It looked like a tiny bug zapper on a stick (or maybe a cheap solar path light) to symbolize the torch in the NU seal that the team skated around the ice. The players looked amused by it.
I stayed for the ceremony.
Prolly sounded good when they planned it out, but could it have been any more pathetic?
You couldn't have paid Engineering kids to make a LED torch? That was sad.

They couldn’t change the period from 1 to 2 until 7 minutes were gone.

Once in the 2nd play stopped and the clock ran for 7 more seconds.

Everything in this old barn is busted and needs replaced.

Here is the "torch". That ceremony was kind of weird in an NU sort of way, LOL. Why did they make that huge carpeted square for so few people?
