BU Hockey '25-'26: Can we keep up the run to Vegas?

Happy New Year!

Motzko said after the game that there's a "pretty good chance" Cole Hutson will be back for the Quarterfinal. He's been skating too which is promising. The day off should help.

I wasn't able to watch the game live, but I just watched the 21 minute highlight package. Even though he got pulled and gave up 5, I thought Knowling looked okay. I mean, was he off his angle a bit on the 4th goal? (A 2 on 1 thanks to Cole Eiserman.) Perhaps. Could he improve his rebound control? Yep. But it's not like he was letting in goals he should have stopped.

Cole Eiserman is a boderline non-factor on this team. That's my biggest concern right now, from a Terrier perspective. Where'd his game go? Is it the injury? Lack of confidence? Is this who he is?

Hoping to see Cole Hutson skate in the Quarterfinal. They could use his swagger.

NHL.com's Mike Morreale reports that Cole Hutson was a full participant at Thursday's practice, manning the point on the top power-play unit.

From The Athletic. Posting for the Eiserman comment.

Hagens and Lee had good moments. Eiserman and Hensler were borderline awful all tournament. Still, they had nobody who could step up and take over a game for them. Hutson was the closest thing, but he was injured for most of the tournament. Their best scorer was Will Zellers, who was a late addition, and while productive, I wouldn’t describe him as spectacular, either. Their workers in players like Brody Ziemer, Teddy Stiga, A.J. Spellacy and L.J. Mooney played well, but they are not natural scorers.

thought it was interesting that in overtime neither Zellers nor Eiserman saw the ice- probably afraid of their defensive liabilities
Eiserman's stock has been falling the past two years but his overall play in all zones is improving
Sure he will be gone after this year but could stand further seasoning- Will he be more tha ahl player?

He needs a big second half. The Bellows/Wahlstrom comp is spot on right now.

Right, Bomber. That's why I said "against a weaker team." Canadian exhibitions are always a walkover, more or less.
I don’t understand why they even have those games. If you’re going to do an exhibition make it fun. Like bring in the Worcester Railers or the P Bruins.

Or maybe we need a hockey equivalent of the Savannah Bananas to play.

I suspect it's an attempt to 'knock out the long layoff rust' before meaningful games. But...yeah.
I think that's why. Plus, good will and all. There have been rumors of SFU joining NCAA D1 ... like some DIII teams. Maybe a stepping stone. I gather they have other US exhibitions in their schedule.
