BU Hockey '25-'26: Can we keep up the run to Vegas?

This is reminiscent of the Albie years
What’s with Dartmouth? They are 10-0 (they beat Vermont 7-2). They haven’t played anyone really, but they beat Cornell 2-1 and have beat up on ECAC by large margins. Giving up only 1.3 per game. Are they the Indiana football equivalent in college hockey this year? They don’t have a very tough schedule to go either - Quinnipiac home and away, Cornell away and 2 with Arizona State at home seem to be their toughest.

Stick a fork in it. Someone had said it already: they’re playing like they don’t want to get hurt for their pro career. Doesn’t seem like anyone will have a particularly long one so I don’t get it. Rip off all the letters and give them to Roukounakis. I also fault recruiting a bit. This team is way too young and immature. They seem to have whiffed on the eval of a few of these guys. As did some NHL teams.
I’ve been following the team since 2004 and can’t recall a season with a greater discrepancy between expectations and results. Anyone have examples?

Who was on the ice for the gag-job goal? Let me guess. The defensemen who plays over half the game (even though we have 9 D1 recruited defensemen on the team.) and the too young captain. Doesn’t matter what forward group ‘cause they all took extra shifts all weekend cause the coaching staff thinks they are SO much better than the 4th line that the 4th line doesn’t play at all. Against UVM.

Recall bednarik made a kinda blind backward pass near the red line instead of dumping it in and chasing with 50sec left,

Bernie and Mark were rightly critical on the play by play call
Hughes, Copponi, LaChance, Kaplan … nobody replaced them in terms of toughness, feistiness and grit. If you look around and everybody is a star and nobody gets pissed about losing or playing poorly…nobody gets irked at the cheap shot to Celebrini…then you are soft.
Last year’s team had too many penalties but at least some of them were the “right kind of penalties”, not lazy hooking calls. Big hits add up, hooking penalties don’t.
Last year’s season improved greatly after the Beanpot, and the Beanpot looked lost until LaChance made a ruckus around the crease, fighting and clawing and almost getting a goal. At the time Bernie called it the best shift of the night for BU…might have been best shift of the season.
Copponi scored that “reply” goal in the tournament … the kind of goal that gets scored when a pissed off guy who came to BU to win a championship not chase girls, lift weights and wait for a spot on the NHL roster to be opened, takes advantage of a team taking a nap. This year BU is the team napping.
In that sense, I do think the staff should have brought in a guy or two who were 4th year guys, known for leadership, who wanted a chance to win a trophy.

I kindve understand why Pandolfo allows Hutson to take risks but why he continually allows forwards (who have produced very little) attempt crazy plays in the middle of the ice is puzzling

Of the forwards expected to make an impact, only Eiserman has consistently shown any spark. Granted Bosivert has been hurt a lot, but when he's been in he's been a non-factor. And, after a decent start, Ritchie simply looks lost out there. Bednarik also shows some promise, but it's not enough. When you're pinning your hopes on Roukounakis running a post pattern to the net and scoring a gutsy goal, something is wrong with the picture.
