BU Hockey '24-'25: Reloaded for another Frozen Four run

Eh it's more 'back to bad habits' the PK has been better but the amount of time on the PK is bad. PC is scoring full strength goals anyway

Really lackluster effort tonight. Providence doesn’t give you much room. You have to get it behind them and go to work. They haven’t done that - Providence outworked them.

Big Mike with a few mistakes tonight. One thing I noticed he struggles with is covering up pucks. One cost him a goal tonight and I’ve seen several where he couldn’t cover with the glove over it or pull it into him with his stick. On the one shot off his skate from the side he seemed to not be paying attention or misjudged where the puck was going. Oh well, things to improve on.

Absolutely need tomorrow night. No sweeps!

Classic Beanpot hangover. It’s still gross, but it’s not unprecedented.
Stop it this team has played like hot crap for 7 of the last 9 periods . They caught lightning in the bottle in the middle of the 2nd period against BC and scored 2 goals in all of a sudden I was hearing about being a NC contender. In the Yegerov era they are 3-3. And yes he’s very good but in all 6 games he’s given up atleast 1 first period goal. Quit taking the cheese they are a very low character team in a lot of ways a mess.

They also needed to win this game. All league games are important from here on out. I really don’t want to have to play that HE tournament game on Wednesday. After they won the Belpot, I thought getting over that hump of actually winning a tournament would help and then they laid a huge egg the next game. I was hoping that wouldn’t happen after Monday. Who the hell know what we’ll see tonight.

Excellent point this game meant more for the actual season and tournament seeding than that good feeling Beanpot game. They have lost 4 of the last 5 HE games they were in no position to just write it off as a let/down.

Catching BC and Maine would be a TALL order. Keeping 3rd is the priority at this point. The pack behind BU is tight so a slip could be quite a tumble.

Imagine if Maine had won in regulation these last what now three OTs in a row? They'd be tops of the league with some breathing room.

It's the womens game at 4

so what are the boys gonna do against the red headed step children?🤔
Is it too much to expect 6 pts (or however they do it these days with a pair of wins).

Jay made an interesting comment in his post game presser last night. Apparently Providence had players on the ice too long in the pre-game warm-up and the referees were going to call a penalty on Providence. (Sound vaguely familiar?) Apparently Jay declined the penalty as he "didn't want to start the game that way." His declination begs the question - is this apparently an option to an opposing coach. Is this in the same category as the famous 'protocol' call we saw at BC. And if Jay could decline it, did Greg Brown have the same option and didn't decline it? Inquiring minds would like to know.

Does anyone on this thread have an insight to the what the rule book says about these 'violations', the manner in which they are handled, and the latitude on enforcement that may be available?

Really happy with how BU played last night after laying an egg in Providence. They've beaten two really good teams in the past week. Still not sure they have the consistency it takes to win some hardware in either the HE or NCAA tournament but if there's a chance at least...

Excactly. Consistency is what's missing here. BU will be a dangerous team no one wants to draw in single elimination, but once they do, they actually have a 50/50 chance of blowing us off the ice.
