BU Hockey '24-'25: Reloaded for another Frozen Four run

Seems like someone lost a bet.

If you make better decisions than I do by staying off of that hellsite, Macklin Celebrini walked into SAP Center tonight wearing Will Smith's college jersey.

That's hilarious. Thanks for linking though. one of the benefits of having closed out at the hellsite is you can't get comments or go further down rabbit holes. You just get to see what someone posted in the link.

Mike in net tonight. While I think he's the future, I hope Caron gets the Beanpot start on Monday. It could be one of his last games in net as a Terrier.

Generous sentiment but this team cannot afford to be generous at this point in the season.

Let's see how he does tonight. He played great in one game that they lost. Let's not anoint him as the second coming till he gets more than one game under his belt.

Agreed - curious to see how things are tonight. He certainly will start the game in a better position compared last game! Really have to win all of these home games coming in.

This is Mike's net until he loses it or goes pro a few years from now. Shifting back to Caron Monday would be a bad whiplash move. Caron may only get his senior night game the rest of the way. It's a really unfortunate situation since he was not at the top of the list why the team has underperformed this year. But it's the roster move Jay and staff can make. He seems like a real mature kid and hopefully that maturity rubs off on everyone else in the locker room.

Caron came from Brown. Good stock. He will be fine.

Wasn’t there some other kid in the pipeline these past couple years? What was his story??

Michael Chambre, he committed under Albie to arrive fall 23. He got injured before he got here and pushed up a year, but Jay and Joe elected to bring in Caron instead. He went to Mercyhurst this year after playing in the USHL last year. His stats tell the story of why the staff made that decision: https://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=248118

Ok, we’ve proven again we are the champs of the UNH series. Now it’s Beanpot time with Harvard up first. Are we going to do what we’re supposed to do here or are we going to somehow make a game of it? As I remember , we didn’t exactly play inspiring hockey against them early in the year, but it was an exhibition. I’m fairly certain Yegorov will get the start, no?

Yes, Mike's in net. And yes, that was an exhibition where numerous starters didn't play.

Looks like they recovered and playing a bit better now. Nice to get that tying goal before the 1st concluded. Keep the intense pressure on.

Nice 5 goal period! That's what I'm talking about! (I know - it's Harvard, but impressive nonetheless)

Reminds me of Beanpots of old

Last time we scored 7 in any Beanpot game was 1997, also a 7-1 win against Harvard in the first round.

Liked how they turned it around later on in the period. And wow - five goals in the second! Very anxious about the championship game. If they get off to another slow start, it could be ugly. But for now, time to focus on Merrimack this Friday.
