BU Hockey '24-'25: Reloaded for another Frozen Four run

Scarlet saw you were looking for tix..just read on the UNH Men's Hockey Facebook page that someone had 4 tix to move and it looked like they were giving them away...Anyone can access that page as it's UNH's social media..

 Yah, when mookie asks if anyone wants his tickets, he is asking who wants them…mookie never looks for money.

While not yet officially rostered, Mikhail Yegorov made the trip to the Whitt.
Last night was Pandolfo's 100th game as coach. 69-28-3.

When will he be officially rostered? When classes start on Tuesday?

Jay says he doesn’t know what to do about the penalties. Perhaps sit the next guy that gets (a legit) major?

2 minutes for roughing is fine. Don’t see 5 minutes for putting your hands on someone’s mask, that’s all. If you grab them by it and somehow throw a player to the ground, that may be a different story.

Not sure what the refs saw in review, but watching replays on NESN, it appeared that the face mask was being pulled, which admittedly was not a throw down onto the ice, but that line can be blurred so I can see why refs might be trying to deter face mask grabbing. As you well know, broken necks can happen in a blink of the eye in college hockey.

Enrolled>Clearinghouse>Roster.

Outside of McCarthy's major, which easily could have been coincidental roughing calls, BU took three penalties, which Pandolfo has called an acceptable number. Eiserman's boarding penalty was simply frustration and very unnecessary. Same with Greene's slash with 17 seconds left. Yes, you want to play to the buzzer, but play smart.

Is Aiden Celebrini in mooksville, hurt, or just DNP, coaches decision?

Also, did Tristan get shifts last night? I noticed last weekend he barely played even though he was listed on the 4th line.

Celebrini was mentioned as upper body injury and out. I didn’t notice Amonte last night. I know Grimes got shifts on that line.

If no one wins Powerball tonight, I’m going to buy a ticket for Monday and if I win, I’m going to make a sizable donation to the team that’s contingent on them learning how to win a face off to start a power play. The donation will increase over the course of the season with each win and decrease with every loss. Either that or fund a coaching endowment and the coach’s sole responsibility is working with players on that skill. This is getting ridiculous.

The good - Caron looked much better tonight, more like late last year, the defensive effort was better, and we won the game for 2 pts and stay in first place in HE.

The bad - that 3rd period was awful (only 2 real shots) and an OT win at home doesn’t help much in the PWR.

I didn’t see half the game, ESPN+ didn’t start streaming it until 7pm for some reason. Someone didn’t pick up on the 6pm start, although it showed that it did.

Now it’s BC time.

The best part was Caron. Poor 3rd period at home that was pathetic. Bunch of dumb undisciplined penalties (one was a bad call). Two more for SFB Kaplan. He should be benched for a game again. Hutson with a chippy killer penalty with 4 mins left. Still a sweep but BC could eat them alive next weekend. Despite the records and bunching of HE teams in PWR and league standings BC is far superior in potential and on another level from the others. We will know just how far apart BU is next weekend

Being outshot by over 50% was largely attributable to being unable to effectively clear the D zone when killing a penalty.

We have an uncanny ability to hit an opponent or, worse, an opponent's stick when attempting a clear. It's an Achilles heel which will finish us.

Kaplan has been an issue all year….

funny with so many hea teams currently in the field. Today the terriors would share a region with bc, uconn, and the aic conference winner
no reason to shift around with 5, poor uhn is out at 16 with the auto bid for bc.

Exactly. A big reason why 10 of UNH's 15 shots in the third period came on the three power plays.
Four strong games by Caron bodes well for the future. Greene scored the game-winner, but Caron stole this one for BU.
But the penalties....:(

Did the new goalie coming in light a fire?

BC week. Hoping to avoid a zero point weekend.

BU Hockey: Play Clean and Defend

I know everyone is fearing BC, and for some good reasons. Last year they beat us because their goaltender outplayed ours. Same concern this year, but it’s good Caron looks better as of late. But, remember, they have to play us as well. We’re as good an offensive team as they will face this year. Plus, we have the added advantage of me not being at the games this year (I have hardly ever seen a win in person - at Agganis especially - more wins when I watch from home for sure!).
