BU Hockey '24-'25: Reloaded for another Frozen Four run

Adding Michael Misa from Canadian major juniors will be huge.

I've seen stories linking BU to Misa over the past week, but also linking him to BC.

Does anyone have an accurate line on this?

I was at the U18 NTDP game and liked the play of Trethewey and Murtaugh (sneaky good - pops up in the right place with the right play).

Fondrk had his moments but didn't shine as much.

The Dog Pound was vocally all over Will Brown. Was he originally committed to BU and flipped, or was it just because he's going to the other end of Comm Ave next year?

Classy move by the USTD coach to start the future Terriers. I hope he does the same when other kids gave the future college team's.

I actually noticed Murtaugh the most. Good skill and doesn't shy away from contact.
Tretherway looked like a good one.
Fondrck has a big reputation, but had a quiet night.
There is a fourth future Terrier on the team, but was injured.

Adding Michael Misa from Canadian major juniors will be huge.

According to CollegePuckNXT, who seems to have a finger on the recruiting pulse, Misa is being pursued by BU, BC and Minnesota. An older brother, Luke, who was drafted by Calgary last June, might be part of a package like the Celebrinis or the Fantillis at Michigan.

Murtagh, who missed nine games earlier this season, has seen his stock rise since returning. 2nd on the U18s with 10-12-22 in 20 games and most of his points have been in games against college and international teams. Goals against BC, Michigan State, Sweden, 2 in the USA-CHL Challenge games. He had a B rating on the preliminary watch list and that likely becomes an A.

Trethewey was one of two NTDP U18s to get an A rating. Very strong at both ends. Not in the Hutson-style as someone noted earlier, but says he's modeled his game on Charlie McAvoy's and has spent time with him in the summer.

Random question - is the Utah Hockey Club not selling jerseys yet? Clayton Keller’s jersey on the wall at Agganis is still his Coyotes one. All the other Terrier’s jerseys have been updated.

All three Terriers at the U.S. Jr. National Team Camp have made the final squad for the WJCs. Eiserman and Hutson had been considered locks to make the team. Svoboda was the points leader at the WJSS in the summer and his size and speed earned him a roster spot.

That’s awesome for Svoboda. He has been a joy to watch this year. He and Zetterberg are my two favorites this season. Both look like smart players that put in a ton of hard work to create chances.

Pretty cool hockey jersey, I think, as the front simply reads UTAH in block letters on a slant. The Keller Utah jersey sells for $175 on several internet sites.

yah merry Christmas everyone

Mookie remembers hearing that this display is from donors only. So if someone wants to buy, it’ll swap.

Another painful game to watch. Turnovers, miscues, bad defense and goaltending galore. We’ll see if we can win this track meet. This is a Yale team that scores 1.6/game coming in. I know we’re missing some key players, but we should be able to handle Yale this year and keep them to 2 goals or less.

Looks like we won’t win the track meet. Quite unbelievable the way this one is turning out. This team just doesn’t have it at all in the defensive end and they are careless half the time with the puck, and play recklessly.

So...a month or so ago I mentioned that Pando isn't having a good year and needs to get it together. Several other posters responded about how Jay is great and has gone to the FF the last two years. Would any of you like to step up to the plate now and reassess? Like his team, he's having a bad year and can't seem to correct mistakes. This isn't a Jerod Mayo situation, who should be immediately fired on the sidelines as soon as the clock hits 0:00 after the last Patriots game. However Pando does need to learn from this season. This shouldn't be a .500 team.

I actually thought it could have been worse. I thought Gavin McCarthy's 2 minute penalty for contact to the head, could have easily been 5 minutes.

Four seconds into the penalty, Kamil Bednarik wrapped his stick around O'Donnell's neck, on the face off. Bednarik's stick was snapped and O'Donnell went down the tunnel into Yale's locker room.

Lots of undisciplined penalties this year. In the last home game before the break, a 4-0 loss to UMass-Amherst, Bernie and Tom were pretty disappointed in Cole Hutson's game misconduct penalty, along with Devin Kaplan's penalty at the end of the game.

IMO, this just shows how great Lane and Celebrini were. They possessed the puck so much, accomplished so much that they carried the team to the FF. A lot of last yesrs team is back and you see what they are without those two. Eiserman is a talented player but he doesn't have anyone like those two to ride with him. I wouldn't hang this on Pandolfo. BU is supposed to have good talent arriving soon. See what the next few years bring.

Don't underestimate how much this team misses veterans like Stevens and Peterson. Not to mention Cade Weber's presence on the back-line.

Meanwhile, the high-end talent is shining on the world stage at World Juniors.

How many big wins might we get to enjoy in the second half? I'm hoping for at least one.

BU Hockey: Struggling

And C. McCarthy, Tuch and Zabaneh. 6 veterans with deep experience, along with the Dynamic Duo.

also wonder about loss of Doug Freidman behind bench=-seemed he left for not a big job and he brought a certain energy behind the bench
