BU / BC Home and Home 12/2 - 12/3 Could we really be done with each other by Dec 3?!

Re: BU / BC Home and Home 12/2 - 12/3 Could we really be done with each other by Dec

I believe the clock is reset to the point of the BU goal and no BC goal.

Edit: those are the NHL rules at least

Yes, the BC goal would've been negated. This happened in the 09 NCAA tournament (I want to say in one of the games in Bridgeport), if a goal is found to have been scored, it counts and everything after it is voided.

and it happened to us in 2008 NCAA game vs Minnesota in Worcester . they were awarded a goal after review and the one we scored after theirs was negated, IIRC

Congrats on being ranked #1. Again.

i dont think so and i hope not. College hockey is one big mess this year. we were all crowing about how good DU is (probably not you guys since you beat 'em) and they are 7-6-1 i think. It looked like Notre Dame was a cut above and look what happened to them this weekend and then PC doing that to Mack ??? a really weird year so far ........... look at the three strange games between us so far....go figure

edit: DU currently 6-5-3

This is one of those years where there's probably 10-12 teams that have a legit chance of winning it all as their are really no teams that stand out above the rest.

Favorite part of the game: BU's possible goal is being reviewed after BC scores. Announcer "Boston University - No Goal" - fanboys erupt.

I mean, gee, thanks for cheering for BC!

This was nuts, it happened right in front of all the BC fans and it was perfectly clear that the puck went in. The crazy part was that it was in the 3rd period and play continued for at LEAST 3 or 4 minutes with the clock winding down to just a few minutes left in the game. Then BC scored and no one celebrated because we know the Gophers had scored.

Heh.

that was hysterical. is the bu fan base predominantly women? because instead of cheering, its a lot of high pitched shrieking the past few years.

The BC fanbase, on the other hand, is not only predominantly male, but overwhelmingly manly male. I think the top four professions for male BC grads are policeman, construction worker, cowboy, and -- interestingly -- Indian chief. Don't quite know what to make of those stats, but there you are.

ironically enough, when their fellow alums in the statehouse dole out casino licenses -- you will see many igles wearing a headdress looking to be called "chief". :D

your typical BC guy: BU men want them, BU girls want to be them

Wait doesn't that play against the trust fund baby line you guys tout?

The best shrieks last night were when BU would break out 1 on 4 across the redline

The fanboys are so DUMB. That was the most priceless thing I've seen from fanboys since they cried in front of the cameras in 2006 in Worcester.

Durrrrr... what is the black thing they're hitting around with their sticks? Durrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

But they wear jerseys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: BU / BC Home and Home 12/2 - 12/3 Could we really be done with each other by Dec

-Biggest win of the year in the most hostile environment

I hadn't been to Egganus Arena for a few years but I was shocked at how not hostile it was. It didn't seem that loud or hostile to me. I have to imagine winning at Engelstad was much tougher of a game from an environment standpoint.

Obviously I had a few favorite moments from last night but you should have seen the face of the fanboy in the front row when Billett was announced as the starting goalie. There he was with his sign that showed Milner's stats against BU (which are admittedly terrible) and they announce Billett and he just put his sign down and looked like he was going to cry.

The "Milner's better" chant was also priceless after BU lucked out and got their only goal from behind the net. Oooooooooops.

To me the difference between Fri and Sat night from a BC perspective is that BC did not make many mistakes at all. BU didn't get a ton of Grade A scoring chances. Much like how BU buried their chances on Friday, BC just absolutely sniped goals 2,3, and 5 and buried it when they had the chance.

Trust fund baby= Harvard. I also don't think it was a BU fan that brought that up but really don't remember or care to be honest.

The sign was awesome (the stats were really terrible), and I was as bummed as the guy holding it when Billett was announced.

Question for the folks who are more observant than me and pay better attention to the warmups. Is it normal to have the guy who isn't starting warming up between the pipes facing shots or was York pulling a psych out sticking Milner in there?

My friend made the sign and I gave it to the fan next to the goal judge to hold. By the time I handed it to him we already knew Billett and he said he was going to hold it up during warmups and the starting lineups and then put it down, so he already knew, and you were reading way to much into his expressions, but I'll be sure to let him know you enjoyed gazing into his eyes.

Was going to be followed directly by "We're just kidding" but there was a whistle, the band started playing, and the timing was ruined.
