BU 2021-22: Albie's Great Adventure

- Dop was the difference, though I agree many shots were not tough saves. But that save on Armstrong on the 2-on-1 was immense.
- The next biggest difference was having to rely on Copeland and Jarman, instead of McCarthy. Copeland, who looked great the Beanpot, made a bad play on the tying goal. And Jarman looked like a guy who had not played all season, as he was. Just out of synch, looked nervous.
- And finally, the power play took a step back (yes, I know our only goal was on the PP). Too much standing around, passing back and forth eating up clock and ending up with the same look after 15 seconds.

But this doesn't erase the amazing run they have been on. If they don't sweep Maine (no easy task) then perhaps they peaked too early. But if the do, then I think that means they still have to be considered a threat to win the HE title.

No, I meant depleted from last year; they've really been a shell of their former selves all season long. They're definitely re-loading for 22-23 so we'll see if they can restore themselves with this incoming class.

I read somewhere the 23 class is really loaded but hopefully 22-23 has some decent players to make the team more competitive in October 22

Conte forum is an absolute dump. Temperature in that building was about 25 degrees. Food is gross. Seating is awful. Atmosphere stinks. Awful BC fan attendance. The need to take a wrecking ball to that place and start fresh. A program like BC deserves a better home rink..

Game was about what I expected after a blowout win. Dop was good but BU hit him in the chest a lot and weren't there for rebounds. Gotta tip your cap to the kid as he bounced back from giving up 6 the day before. The 2 BU turnovers that determined that game were atrocious and the shots they scored on were NHL shots. BC was opportunistic and were carried by McBain. McBain was best player on the ice by a wide margin.

I think BC played a tighter defense too than Saturday. Did not hear any plans on renovating Conte but ......

Opened in the late 80s and already 30 years old but home is home. A lot of the dorms have been replaced or added since then. A practice indoor football facility recent.

A new venue is planned for basketball next door.

With the team not playing well this year, it's understandable people start to not show up. But the die hards like me and friends still show up

Good luck recruiting to BC if you show them Conte and add in the poor results of this season and an old coach. Conte is quickly becoming on of the worst venues in Hockey East. Its a cool concept but the place needs a massive revamp to be brought up to date. Did I mention a ridiculous $50 a ticket for lower bowl? Upper seats are glorified benches. The hockey program is arguably the only decent program at BC - spend some money to fix that dump up.

BU has been playing well and you could probably see the split with BC happening because it is BC and such a rivalry. That being said they need both games verse Maine which will be tough as every away game in Hockey East is tough to win. Regarding the Hockey East tournament - GOOOOD luck trying to pick the winner of that single elimination tournament - I could see probably see 8 teams make a case that they could win it.

Calling Conte Forum a dump is absolutely laughable. We're complaining that it's cold? It's a freakin hockey rink. It's obviously not Agganis and hopefully someday there is a hockey specific arena but give me a break with it being a dump.

And despite all of Lemonade's concerns, amazingly BC still has a loaded class as of right now for 23-24 season. Maybe they'll all have second thoughts because their parents prefer a warmer rink.

Good to hear our dump is not the worst ) UVM is probably the worst in HE and MC is really small like Schneider. Alfond is pretty old and outdated, Matthews is old with some improvements over the years but still outdated. But some like it because of the history like Fenway which I detest and wished they had built a new Fenway

The food got worse so I brought my own in yesterday or snuck in ) Even the food upstairs in Pikes is bad.

I'm in the bowl but as a season holder, no where near $50, I don't like Ticketmaster reselling as they always add an extra $15 fee for each ticket.

The tix I got for Saturday at HAA I always buy early and more reasonable but if you wait too long HAA tickets, the tickets are priced just as high for whatever reasons

Problem with beer at HAA you can only buy one and I ended up getting out of line because it was taking too long and the period was about to begin or I was missing a lot of the game if I kept waiting

I guess we go on and on about each facility in HE but it is what it is

There are worst things to worry about in life right now

i guess we have differing opinions of loaded classes. Paying $50 I expect it not to be 25 degrees in the place - it isn’t hockeytown. Seats with backs would be a plus too…

Are you sure you're thinking of 23-24 class with Ryan Leonard, etc? Next year's class is solid but the Leonard year is loaded. Of course that means absolutely nothing right now though. I just don't think BC is losing recruits because of Conte Forum.

And I wouldn't spend 50 on a BU game. Maybe a Beanpot final or HE game at the garden. But not a regular season game. I dropped my season tix a few years ago. Last I recall is the BU game being the most expensive at $30. Gotta pay for the renovations I guess! (there are renovations on the books geared towards basketball).

Agree Conte is far from a dump but what's with the legion of orange-jacketed security guys running down the stairways at every time-out so they can stare at empty seats and bald eagles, and hobble back up the stairs when the puck is dropped. Really, is the Pike's Peak membership really that dangerous? I took in a game at Conte before the COVID curse and thought I had wandered into a gulag.

Plenty of empty seats in lower bowl. No one really checks your tickets especially when it's not sold out.

Doesn't it make you feel at home ? WBA is cold too ) Usually each week I work as a game official @ WBA

Special request: Please have your guys do to #Flagship this weekend what they did to the ratdogs on Sunday.

You do realize you're in the BU thread, don't you? Or maybe you don't??

Yes, WBA is cold, but not as cold nice the renovation that included new pad and ice equipment and an A/C system to regulate humidity in the rink.

Congrats to Vinny on winning HE Goaltender of the Month! And for playing very well against BC at home on Saturday. Looks like Albie made the right call there.

What happens this weekend? Do they split games?

[Turns on the TV] Oh a lacrosse game is on. That means college hockey tourneys are starting soon. I should check USCHO forums.

[if you get it, you get it.]
