BSU '10-'11: Can the Beav's Read the W and be in the Hunt?

Re: BSU '10-'11: Can the Beav's Read the W and be in the Hunt?

Another BSU recruit - Cody Stang - quality player (but didn't get accepted into WI, which he previously committed to, because of academics).

Re: BSU '10-'11: Can the Beav's Read the W and be in the Hunt?

An update since I have heard BSU will be paired with CC/Denver for their "pod" mates.

UNO 2 at home, 2 on the road
UND 2 at home
SCSU 2 on the road
Minnesota 2 on the road
Wisconsin 2 at home
Mankato 2 at home
Anchorage 2 on the road
UMD 2 on the road
Michigan Tech 2 at home
Denver 2 at home, 2 on the road
CC 2 on the road, 2 at home

Rumors on The BeaverPond have Bowling Green and Alabama-Huntsville coming to Bemidji next year and the Beavers traveling to Miami. That still leaves room for two more games due to the Anchorage trip. If this is true, right now, BSU will have 9 home series, maybe 10, depending on the final two games.

Re: BSU '10-'11: Can the Beav's Read the W and be in the Hunt?

Does anyone have a link for a live feed of the Minnesota high school tournament?

Re: BSU '10-'11: Can the Beav's Read the W and be in the Hunt?

Due to some scheduling conflicts, tomorrow's College Hockey Tonight is already online. Clicky, clicky on the link in my signature...

Re: BSU '10-'11: Can the Beav's Read the W and be in the Hunt?

According to the line chart on the BSU website, Matt Read is in the lineup tonight!

GO GREEN!

Re: BSU '10-'11: Can the Beav's Read the W and be in the Hunt?

bemidji OWNS omaha.:D

...but really though bemidji was very fortunate to come away with this one. Bemidji was hanging by a thread in the last 10 minutes

Re: BSU '10-'11: Can the Beav's Read the W and be in the Hunt?

I don't know how and I don't know why, but the Beavs have had UNO's number thus far.

Great to see Reado was able to make it back on the ice this weekend, he makes an impact on all parts of the ice.

Still work left to do. Get after em early tomorrow night boys.

Go Beavs.

Re: BSU '10-'11: Can the Beav's Read the W and be in the Hunt?

Kudos to Dan Bakala!! Huge series for him back to back nights with 40 or more saves. Thats huge for bemidji to go into the final five with a red hot goalie!

Re: BSU '10-'11: Can the Beav's Read the W and be in the Hunt?

The Beavers will get Duluth in the early game on Thursday. BSU went 0-1-1 against them with two OT games early in the year.

Go Green!

Re: BSU '10-'11: Can the Beav's Read the W and be in the Hunt?

As a BSU alum, I am elated. As an Omaha resident and UNO STH since day one I am sad. Bemidji earned both victories. An absoulutely brilliant defensive clinic, especially Saturday night. Their players are well schooled. Great positioning, blocking the passing lanes, and the ability to capitalize on turnovers. Not to mention more than a few good breaks as well. Bakala made the save of the century, stoning Searfoss by extending his arm across the goal crease Saturday night. Unreal. Good luck in the F5. UNO will now have to wait for Selection Sunday. I'm not optimistic.

A TOTAL ditto on that, 96. I usually pull for BSU in these meetings but I have to admit to being disappointed in the outcome this weekend. If you take the BSU/UNO games off the books this year, UNO is a top seed for the NCAA.

Re: BSU '10-'11: Can the Beav's Read the W and be in the Hunt?

I just wanted to stop by the thread and say congratulations. It will be awesome rooting for Bemidji at the Final Five! For me, and several other Sioux fans, Bemidji was always a second favorite team after North Dakota. I hope we get to meet up one more time this season (or maybe twice :)) on Saturday and let the best team win. For now, enjoy a great sweep of a very good Omaha team.
