Brown - Oops! They did it again.

Re: Brown - Oops! They did it again.

Oh please. What we have been responding to is a parent starting a thread so she can whine about tryouts, about the coaches etc, when she is really just venting because her Janey is sitting on the bench. She knew what she was getting into, but now that reality has set in, she can't face it.

Is the situation effed up down there? Yes. Is crying about it on a forum likely to change it? No, and it probably made it a lot worse. If everyone isn't pulling on the oars, the boat goes in a circle. The good ship Bruno is going in ever tighter circles.

So here you are defending the coaches for the past months even though you know how messed up the team was. Do You know what Trillium is talking about? Don't go blaming anyone for the situation at Brown when you can sit behind your keyboard and actually support those coaches. I disagree that this forum is the wrong place to vent. In fact, if those 2 asst. coaches are scouting in Western Canada, then this is very effective in letting those kids know that Brown is not the team to play for. If they make a mistake and sign with Brown, then they're stuck for 4 years. This could be a huge help to those innocent girls. And out of the 35,000 plus people who viewed this thread, maybe one kid might be saved and maybe one administrator or donor will see this and step up to the plate.

Re: Brown - Oops! They did it again.

Careful, if you try and kill a thread with continuous posts, you can end up banned.

I respect that thought.

Tried to urge responsibility, that obviously didn't work.

How about a love-in?

Favorite Brown Hockey memories to share?

Something positive?

Anybody help me count to (what? 78?)??

Re: Brown - Oops! They did it again.

Hey, notfromaroundhere - ya, that's obvious - No need to help with the rowing, the boat sank.

I think this is a positive development. Let's explore your anger, Fan007 with notfromaroundhere.

Or maybe we should explore the boat metaphor.

Anybody seen the river on fire thing in Providence?

Re: Brown - Oops! They did it again.

With you and your friends drilling holes in the hull and trying to swamp it, no doubt.

The problem comes down to sailors who can't sail, and prefer mutiny to staying ashore...or in this case, DIII.;)

And laugh at you.

You truly are a newbie on these forums....

Ouch!

Someone decided they did not agree with my perspective on this thread.

He or she called me (I think) a "moron."

I think I'm offended by that.

On reflection, I feel better.

Given the likely source of the opinion, actually, I feel pretty good.

Re: Brown - Oops! They did it again.

I'm reminded of that very last final scene from Ferris Bueller's Day Off...you know....

"you're still here? go home! it's over!"

Re: Brown - Oops! They did it again.

You should really change your name to dontsaydad and do exactly that. Just don’t say anything unless you actually are part of Brown, know about Brown (that doesn’t mean hearing rumors), or actually care about Brown. Or Just don't say anything unless it actually has some sort of substance.

I hope you at least personally know Digit and have a reason for defending her because if not it’s really just pathetic what you are doing here. You’re not trying to argue the thoughts of some whiny parent, you’re trying to argue the thoughts of probably 90% of the people actually involved with Brown hockey (and that’s being generous on Digit’s behalf).

But maybe they'll come for an education. Can't see any of them getting to the NHL.;)

Hux, you continually blame the players even though you acknowledge the coaching situationn is effed up. How good is the scouting if all these kids that left the team are D-III caliber? Then what you're indicating is that Digit told these kids and their parents that they were D-1 material when, in fact, they were needed for simply for their IAs. Sounds like an unfair and deceptive practice to me.

HCKY85, if you're a Brown student, your IA must be around 240 because your posts are quality posts. Half these people don't even understand what you're talking about but the ones who matter, do!

oh wait, then there's that other famous line from Caddyshack.... Rodney Dangerfield at his finest.....

"Come on everybody, let's all get...................."

Not to pick a fight, or a nit, or anything, really ... but ...

That's 34,602 views when I checked it. What's 34,602 views divided by the, what, 12 people who actually read this thread?

Yeah that must be what you and your little gang believe. Seeing you can't just let what's said be said here and feel the need to kill the thread.

True, hockey is sexist - but these girls dreams are to play college hockey, whether D-1, D-2 or D-3, but Digit's using them for their IAs and then telling them to take a walk. How would you like it if it were your daughter?
