Re: Brown - Oops! They did it again.

I wasn't talking to you.

Mr. Know-it-all, good comeback! Why don't you answer? You're good at trying nail everyone who disagrees with you. Are you afraid of the truth? It will set you free.....

Anyone who knows someone on the team can take this test. I assure you; the answers will floor you.

You were a little quick in replying there zero zero 7. I was in the process of editing it...done now.

Re: Brown - Oops! They did it again.

lol, lol, lol. You are a bigger hoser than I thought.

And by the way, I will not vote for Jamie Kevi

It's Kivi and although I wouldn't want to speak for her I do know her...I doubt whether given your disposition, she would want it anyway.

Re: Brown - Oops! They did it again.

I would challenge anyone here to offer ONE thing POSITIVE that could come from ANY of this discourse.

Otherwise, can I propose that you/we all Stand Tall, Face Up???

Re: Brown - Oops! They did it again.

I understand that as well. I might not be a traditionalist when it comes to handling hockey affairs, but I do consider myself to be a traditionalist when it comes to basic morals.

From early on this forum showed the extent to how far certain tainted personas were being applied to certain individuals. I could try to ignore the fact that she’s let the program fall drastically, but I can’t ignore that she finds the need to trash the reputations of players who have quit or been cut in order to justify decisions made.

She doesn’t owe anyone an explanation for why players are no longer on the team. All she has to say is hey it’s my team, but she didn’t. She has gone and publicly spoken only about personal matters of past players without anything remotely hockey related being mentioned.

She lacks any understanding of common decency and has never been forced into taking responsibility for her actions. So if she would like to show a lack of respect for past players and assistant coaches then I have no problem coming onto a website and pointing that out to a community that she thought would never hear anyone else’s perspective but her own.

I agree, there is no need for any of this to be publicly known. But I’m not the person who’s responsible for doing so.

While I haven't heard the specific incident involving "personal matters of past players" you refer to that was publically spoken of, if the "personal matter" becomes "public knowledge" before the coach speaks of it, then in my book, it is something that actually needs to be discussed with the team. Otherwise as a coach, you risk the continued "gossip" about how/whether it factored into the decision.

Once again I don't know the specific issue and circumstance, but if I had a player whose "personal matters" became public and an embarrassment to the team, it ceases to become a "personal matter".

Without getting into specifics, could someone summarize the situation for me so I can understand hcky85's issue?

I'm sorry I have watched this from afar too long and although I see a great deal of humor in alot that has been written, enough is enough.

My D had the privilege of playing with a girl on this team and holds her in high esteem. She has asked her former teammate on several occassions how things are going and EVERY time she has been told that the classes are tough, the hockey is tougher and that she LOVES every minute of it. She says that she is getting the opportunity of a lifetime and is working harder than she thought she could. What an attitude. My only hope is that none of these girls have subjected themselves to the pettiness on this board.

When we were in town we went and saw 2 games and if you counted the operations people and the kid in the concessions there MIGHT have been 25 people there. My wife commented to me that she was suprised to see how engaged the team was (after reading the whining on this board) and how calm Digit was acting. We had heard MANY stories from one of my D's coaches who, when things got tough, always talked about things that Digit did and how if you didn't give 100% she would let you know where you stood with her. If you want to say Digit is a bully OK, SO WHAT? She is what she is and hasn't changed in forever. If you didn't know it would be tough with her YOU didn't listen when she was recruiting. I think I have heard her say to different people, in different years, almost the same thing each time and that is she is tough to play for.

As for the girls that are no longer with the team, I have yet to meet a coach who doesn't not want on their team players who are good on the ice, good in the lockerroom and good in the community. Maybe something happened and they broke some rules and the coaching staff, the administration or whoever decided it was in everyone's best interest to not have them on the team. Sh-- Happens!! I am glad when I have to make a decision that I feel is in the best interest of my team (company) that I don't have the people on this board second guessing my decisions with half/quarter or no idea of what really is happeneing.

The girls on this team deserve so much more respect than they are being given and that it is very sad. They are quickly coming to the end of something that has been their life's passion and some can't see how they might be ruining it for them. How selfish. I hope my D shows the character that these girls have displayed as it will help them for the rest of their lives.

I'm sure I don't know anything as will be pointed out and my grammar and spelling are less than Ivy league and for that I apologize.

Re: Brown - Oops! They did it again.

Again, with all due respect, none of my business, none of yours.

Let it go.

Please.

It's the right thing to do.

Perhaps I put that question wrong. My interest is along the lines of whether/how it was made public, whether it put the team in a bad light (players are representatives of the team), and should they have known this kind of thing would result in their dismissal?

hcky85 argues that Digit talks inappropriately about former players (and I guess why they are "former" players). I'd just like to know more how the issue came to the attention of everyone involved.

Like you, I don't need to know what they did that was so horrible.

My apologies if I sounded like I was starting a Jerry Springer discussion...

Here's one...with all due respect, no more coaches would get publicly ridiculed on a public forum. Don't you think that would be a positive outcome?

Agree 100%. Fabulous Post......I bailed on this discussion many pages ago.... As you said "Enough is Enough"....

...This discussion has run its course.
...People have made their key points.
...Lines have been drawn in the sand, and are simply not moving.

So my vote is to end this debate, and Let the girls on the ice enjoy their last few weekends on the ice. For some this will be the end of their college career. Time to celebrate their accomplishments, and to let them go out with their heads held up high.

So lets all cheer for the players on the Brown team these coming two weekends. Go Bruno.

OnMAA.

Let me clarify: Nothing POSITIVE can POSSIBLY come from any FURTHER discourse on this thread.

Really.

Let's put it to bed.

Doesn't matter.

NOTHING FURTHER SAID HERE CAN BE POSITIVE.

Let's let it end.

I could go as far as to say Digit single handedly murdered all of her players, and you notfromaroundhere would still be here by yourself defending her.

I’m not sure how the transition from personal matters to things “so horrible” being done just occurred. No one at any point, in any thread has described actions that remotely match whatever image you have created in your head.

Ignorance is bliss. Pretending to be ignorant is just naïve.

I was going to let this drop after reading your plea but then I realized there has yet to be a person from Brown who has actually voiced their displeasures with this thread. If that’s the case then that alone speaks more than anything anyone could say.

I take your statement very seriously. Do you not see the irony of your post, because it is exactly what I've been saying all along: "The girls on this team deserve so much more respect than they are being given and that it is very sad. They are quickly coming to the end of something that has been their life's passion and some can't see how they might be ruining it for them."
That is exactly what Digit and Coady have done to the team for their own selfish and immature reasons. You may think your "friend" on the team is riding high on the bandwagon, but did you ever stop to think that that girl is only riding high because Digit took out her vengeance on another of those girls who was just a dedicated and committed as your friend was? Try thinking outside the box. Think about your D's friend and think how you would feel if she was the one bounced off the team. You know she's awesome and you know she lives for hockey, but some "coach" (I use that term loosely) decided that this person didn't genuflect whenever she opens the LOCKER ROOM door as commanded. Sorry, but respect is so much more important than the superficial ice time that your friend is getting at someone else's expense.
Don't throw everyone else under the Zamboni just because their opinions may differ from your own. There's a whole subset of issues here that you have not even ackowledged. I'm not knocking the opinion you're so entitled to, just don't knock mine, either.
