Salami to you too:) I guess I am really showing my age with these posts. TV was my babysitter in those days as my folks could not always afford to pay someone to stay home with me so they plopped me in front of the old Dumont TV set with the 11 inch screen and allowed me to just sit and watch one of the 4 channels we were getting in NYC at the time.

And no one gave it a second thought. Today, your folks would be arrested for child endangerment and you'd be in foster care. :( I'm so glad I grew up back in those days.

Steve-You have it so right. The only problem with what my parents did was I now think in movie quotes or TV quotes. When you watch My Little Margie and Our Miss Brooks and Amos and Andy all the time you do tend to use lines from the shows at times.

There is a company in DC that gives tours on Segways. It's the oddest sight seeing about 20 people on Segways going down the sidewalk. I also think that it is quite dangerous.

Also very annoying. Whenever they're out, you can see commuters giving them the Death Stare. :D

I remember 2, 4, 5, 7, 9, 11 as a child with 5 being WNEW. 13 was mainly static since it was a NJ channel. It wasn't an educational channel yet.

These numbers are hard-wired to these stations for me, forever.

11 also had Chiller Theater.
7 had the 4:30 Movie.

Then there was a magical static-filled place called UHF.
