Brewers 2011 - Yo...Marcum for the post-season or jen may get a little Greinke

Re: Brewers 2011 - Yo...Marcum for the post-season or jen may get a little Greinke

I hadn't posted here in forever and I was so down about the injuries that I figured I'd wait until after a win. The scary thing about the injuries is Weeks hasn't even had his annual significant injury and Ramirez hasn't been battling thru a bad back or something similar like he does every year.

Fixed your post.

Hoping he proves me wrong, but I wasn't happy with that signing.

Ishikawa... perhaps take a pitch or two and give someone who hadn't shown much control a chance to throw it away, or give up a walk and tie the game. I thought we got rid of Yuni Betancourt. :p

Greinke was fantastic. Never really got into trouble. Even in the 8th, the Reds looked like little leaguers swinging at some of those pitches.

Not pressing the panic button yet, though. It's early May.

Matchups for the Cubs series:
Fri: Garza vs. Wolf
Sat: Volstad vs. Marcum
Sun: Samardzija vs. Estrada

Should not have pulled Zach, he had 1 more good inning in him.

Ishikawa...I heard on the radio today that the pitch he swung at was a fastball down the middle, thigh high, gotta swing at that one I guess. Don't swing at that and then you're down 0-1 and the P is tossing you junk the rest of the AB.

Brauny (& friend) at the recent ESPN Wisconsin Awards. Proof that he is living the dream. ;)

Now let's walk-off against Woods!

Oohh. Cute. Most likely the flavor of the month tho.

To the bottom of the 13th they head. And a reminder, first pitch between these two teams is in less than 12 hours.

Woohoo! Corey Hart with a single through the pulled in D allows Weeks to score the game winning run in the bottom of the 13th.

Having the Cubs pitcher bean Weeks and Braun helped too.

We're not the worst in the NL Central (yet)!!! :D

Commercial-free broadcast tonight due to technical difficulties at FSN's headquarters in Houston. Also, so far it is an offense-free broadcast for the Crew. Let's turn it around...

Interesting.

I read that Houston's broadcast was effed too, they had audio from the ballpark, but were using Comcast Sports Chicago's video feed.

I didn't realize that FS-Wisconsin and FS-North needed a feed from Houston.

They kept on saying it was 'master control' in Houston that feeds all the commercials. Some FS cities had no broadcast at all apparently.

Edit: Commercials for the first time tonight prior to the 14th and whaddya know...the Giants take the lead.

Re: Brewers 2011 - Yo...Marcum for the post-season or jen may get a little Greinke

I was hoping they'd go 18 so we'd get three sausage races. :p It was very nice to see Weeks get a hit, but I am concerned about Braun (left in the 10th with groin tightness).

Watching Santiago Casilla bat was a big highlight. ;) He was worse-than-Ben-Sheets bad. That might be the funniest at bat I've ever seen.

Gomez or Mayonset were close to pitching last night:

"It would have been 'Gomey' (Carlos Gomez) or (Edwin) Maysonet," said Roenicke. "We were one batter away. I'd have 'Gomey' do it for sure except I think he'd really try to throw 100 (mph) and looking up at the (radar gun reading). If it wasn't for that, I would bring him in."

Hart may play first against lefties. Related, the poll question from jsonline is - should the Brewers trade K-Rod for a position player? I'm torn. I think the bullpen has enough trouble, and the offense will come around... but it doesn't seem like a team with an infield that includes Cesar Izturis, Travis Ishikawa and a sub-.200 Rickie Weeks can be competitive in the division. It certainly helps that Lucroy has been unexpectedly fantastic, though.

In division news, Berkman's done with a torn ACL. They seem to be contagious.

Tonights game has been interesting.

- Brewers hit 2 triples and neither guy scores. Had like 6 extra base hits early and little to show for it.
- Melky Cabrera with a laser throw to home from deep left to get one of those men from 3rd out.
- Posey crushes a HR to the CF scoreboard.
