Ishikawa to the DL with an oblique strain. Conrad back up.
In addition to the many players on the DL, Ramirez was still out after his HBP, Loe is unavailable due to elbow soreness and Kottaras left due to hamstring cramps.

Add Lucroy to the list of walking wounded. Kottaras is in, even though he's also hurting.
To summarize, we have on the DL, or playing injured:
2 catchers
2 first basemen
2 shortstops
3 pitchers
1 third baseman
This is not counting Braun and Gomez, neither of whom look 100%.

A quick review of the <a href="http://stats.nypost.com/mlb/stats.asp?file=inj">DL</a> tells me it would be worse. San Diego has TWELVE players listed.
In happier news, they beat the Dodgers! In unhappier news, Matt Kemp will be back tonight.

as we were all saying (and thinking), obviously the Brewers are going to beat the best team in baseball when they have Mike Fiers on the mound and are using third string players at 3 other positions.
Excellent game. And no terror from K-Rod (although Axford had a little bit).

Predictably unpredictable.
Brewers sweep the Dodgers in LA and were 5-2 on the trip. The Dodgers were 21-5 at home going into the series.
Braun was held out of the lineup due to his Achilles issue.
A good series against the Pirates would really help in the standings. Wolf vs. Kevin Correia tonight. The Brewers are probably just heading home from the airport.

K-rud. Yikes, he's been terrible this year. I suppose not pitching with the same regularity as last year probably doesn't help, but at some point we have to consider other options don't we?

Kinda ironic that we lost a couple to Nedly's team in the fashion that his Brewers teams used to lose.
