Brewers 2011 - Yo...Marcum for the post-season or jen may get a little Greinke

Re: Brewers 2011 - Yo...Marcum for the post-season or jen may get a little Greinke

Seems like the perfect day to bury one in Puhols neck.

I do want to make it clear that while it's fun to fantasize, and that while I would drop that 40 year old sack of horse tranq when the time was right, I'd let it go for now. As much as I'd like to see him go down like a sack of flour...there's no reason to do anything that might fire St. Louis up. Hell, why change anything? Just keep kicking them around for as long as possible.

Yep. I'd rather have them say all kinds of stupid, nasty things about the Brewers and sound like bitter, paranoid lunatics because none of it is true. I do like that nothing has changed about the way they pitch to him, and he's been ineffective so far this series. A lot of games left vs. St. Louis, though.

<a href="http://www.stltoday.com/sports/baseball/professional/article_8f0982e1-df58-5cad-bec0-92015a414eec.html">Article from STL</a>:

While playing the division leaders six times in 11 days, the Cardinals have seen the Milwaukee Brewers flex their ability to win in a slugfest, win in a duel of bullpens or win without much offense at all.

The results have been as undeniable as the standings.

The Brewers are the better ballclub.
:D

Exactly. Let them stew and fuss all they want. The only reason LaRussa is pulling all this is that he knows they Brewers are a threat and he thinks he's some psychological wizard. Heading into last week, with all those games remaining between the two, I think he tried pulling out all the stops because the status quo on the field wasn't cutting it for the Cards. Hopefully...that can remain the case.

Thoughts: Poll: The Brewers’ Best Trade

Shaun Marcum for Brett Lawrie
Zack Greinke and Yuniesky Betancourt for Lorenzo Cain, Alcides Escobar, Jeremy Jeffress and Jake Odorizzi
Nyjer Morgan for Cutter Dykstra and cash
Francisco Rodriguez and cash for two PTBNL

Tough call on what the best trade was. I think it's too early to pick K-Rod, although he has been fantastic. Marcum has been steady (but we knew he would be), and Greinke has been good (but we knew he would be), Betancourt about as expected. Morgan has been a surprise, so I'm gonna go with him for now.

Greinke goes tonight, Estrada will pitch tomorrow.

Something else for the Cardinals to complain about :) -
If you were wondering: You might have noticed Prince Fielder, Nyjer Morgan, Corey Hart and other Brewers gesturing wildly with their arms after reaching base on hits this season.

Morgan referred to it as "beast mode." Then Fielder offered a little more insight.

"It's from Monsters, Inc.," Fielder said with a laugh. "That's my kids' favorite movie. The whole team does it now. It's something that I saw my kids do, and I thought it was funny, so I thought I might as well do it, too."

I bet that ****ed off Tony LaRussa and the Cardinals too ;)

Smiling when you get on base against the Cardinals ****es LaRussa off so I'm sure this was a horrible violation of the book of ettiquete the Cardinals keep.

Nice win. The best part about K-Rod's hit was the guys in the bullpen going nuts. :)

<a href="http://www.jsonline.com/multimedia/photos/127630653.html#id_54705593">K-Rod shows his "beast mode"</a>.

He's the second pitcher to leave a game this week (was that this week that Marcum left?) with cramps after being on base. Maybe they should sacrifice more? :p

Nice work by Estrada so far. 5 IP, 1 hit. And now...Greinke in as the PH.

It didn't look good for a long while today. Once they took Morton out, I knew something was going to happen. He was making the Crew look silly today and taking him out did us a huge favor. I'm disappointed there was no T-plush post-game interview though!

Related note: Any thoughts on the Bierbrauer jerseys?
Nice idea. Subpar execution, IMHO. You wouldn't have noticed if you weren't really looking. Maybe they should add suspenders next year. :D

In a way, they just did what they did for the Cerveceros jerseys. I suppose that they aren't looking to be too patronizing when they are making their tributes to the ethnicities of Milwaukee.

And my opinion applies to those Cerveceros jerseys too. Both are nice tributes, though.

Updates on <a href="http://www.jsonline.com/sports/brewers/127697933.html">Weeks</a> and <a href="http://www.jsonline.com/sports/brewers/127667003.html">Gomez</a>.

:)

Morgan, easily the best sound byte on the team, disappointed inquiring minds by bolting from the clubhouse before the media arrived to attend a charity event. A bit later, he agreed to a conference call with reporters to discuss his eventful day.

I know there is still a lot of time left, and the race is not even close to over, but I'm going to enjoy this for a few minutes. The Brewers are 20 games over .500.... holy ****. :)
