Re: Brewers 2011 - Yo...Marcum for the post-season or jen may get a little Greinke

gojackets, you better be going to the next 2 games as well. :)

I wish I could. I had to laugh, my friends and I moved down to the front row late in the game and this guy tried to sell me his tickets for tonights game for face value. I asked him if he noticed that the stadium was less than 1/3 full tonight, and I didn't need to pay face value. I offered him 10 for both and he said no :(

They did boo Prince every time he came up. He probably could have shut em up for the series with a grand slam after Brazaboa walked in 3. Or at least for the night, as I'm sure the placewould have emptied after that. Was a little disappointed with Prince's performance.

So Narveson goes 7 shutout inning with 87 pitches and gets pulled for K-Rod who proceeds to get his first blown save in a setup position. Carlos Gomez fractures his clavicle and Takashi Saito gives me a heart attack trying to throw away the game in the 9th...going to extra inning right now.

And the brewers pull it out with 3 runs in the 10th and a not perfect 1-2-3 in the bottom by Axford.

I guess the Brewer outfield went swimming in the Chase Field Pool this afternoon.

Working on tix for Thursdays game..hope I get cheap enough tickets. Trying to get my brother to buy an 18 pack of beer at circle k, because you get 2 tickets with that.

That was a ridiculous game. Narveson looked fantastic.

When's the last time there were 2 broken bones in 1 inning? That was an ugly injury for Drew. Reminded me of <a href="http://cdn.bleacherreport.net/images_root/slides/photos/001/058/475/geoff-jenkins-ankle-injury2_display_image.jpg?1309322026">this one with Geoff Jenkins.</a>

Watching the Drew play I couln't figure out why he was hurt. Until they showed the one replay from high above home. Ankles aren't supposed to bend that way. That sure was a textbook definition of how not to slide. On the Gomez play, I thought to myself, 'That sure looks like a broken clavicle'. At first, they kept saying it was a dislocated shoulder, which might not be so bad. I would have thought the somersault would have reduced the force on the clavicle and reduced the chance of it breaking...I guess not enough.

Too bad for the Narvelous. I was hoping he'd come back out for the 8th. Hopefully, Krod learns how to not flip off the TV cameras.

more on <a href="http://www.jsonline.com/sports/brewers/125995308.html">the half-assed Beltran rumor -</a>

General manager Doug Melvin said he would "possibly" look for outfield help before the July 31 deadline, but Roenicke cautioned against expecting a major deal, such as acquiring New York's Carlos Beltran.

"I'm not taking Nyjer out (of a regular role)," said Roenicke. "It would be a platoon. You wouldn't get (Beltran) to do that."

Marcum vs Cain tonight

Marcum vs Cain tonight
The Brewers main target will remain a SS. A guy like Jamey Carroll, Jason Bartlett or Alexi Casilla.

Great win last night. K-Rod was unbelievable.

Not a bad road trip at 5-6. They've had worse.

Matchups for the Cubs series:

Tonight: Narveson vs Dempster
Wednesday: Greinke vs. Zambrano
Thursday: Marcum vs Wells

First Brewer game of the year for me tonight. I snagged some of those free Caterpillar tickets they were giving away last week. I'll be in row 19 of the family section, second row from the top of the stadium. It will also be the first Brewers game for our new little one (she's also the reason I haven't been to a game yet this year). She's almost 5 months old. Is that too young to teach her 'fibs'? :p

Re: Brewers 2011 - Yo...Marcum for the post-season or jen may get a little Greinke

Uh-oh. I hope that looks worse than it is.

Re: Brewers 2011 - Yo...Marcum for the post-season or jen may get a little Greinke

I dunno. I flipped over to MLB network and saw him laying there, and then the replay. I hope it's just a tweaked ankle that shuts him down for a couple days at worst.

me too, maybe they trade for Jamey Carroll now to give them protection at 2B and an upgrade at SS if Weeks is ok.

It looks like after his left foot hit the base the whole reason he tumbled and landed on his side was to protect that foot from hitting the ground. Ouch.

Just heard from #Brewers source, early tests show Weeks ankle is not broken, but there's no information on how much time he might miss.

X-Rays negative on Rickie Weeks from Mark in our booth right now on @fswisconsin. Got a text from Doug Melvin.
"good" news so far...If he's out for a few days to a week, I would think guys like Jamey Carroll (2B,SS,3B), Omar Infante (2B,SS), Adam Kennedy (1B,2B,3B) have to be targets.
