I'm stuck with the Comcrap feed thanks to where I live, so I missed it too.

*edit* I mean the update. I did see the injury as it happened. Len and Bob were more concerned with the shi**y double pump that Starlin Castro did before the injury.

Roenicke says Weeks is definitely going to the DL. MRI will be done tonight (Wed).

It's a good thing I'm not busy at work today, because then I can obsessively check jsonline every 5 minutes for Rickie Weeks updates (or for trades). Just when things were looking up after a (relatively) good road trip. :(

Hopefully...be interesting to see when Farris gets to play. Another name to keep an eye on is Ian Desmond 2B/SS for Washington.

I was driving through Toronto a couple of weeks ago a listened to an interview with John Axford.
He went through his early years growing up in Port Dover, On., college years, and the rough period endured before getting a shot in big league. He's a great character , well spoken, and as grounded as they come.

I had no idea who he was before that interview as we get very little NL coverage in these parts, but I'm following the Brewers now and hope to get to watch John Axford save a few down the stretch......and beyond.

Is Counsell the only other guy that can play second? I assume Wilson doesn't. I don't think I'd want Betancourt to try. :p

edit: Wilson has played 39 games at second in his career (224 at short, 29 at third). Betancourt has only played 9. Counsell has 557. I'd go with Counsell too (or Farris), regardless of how poorly he's hitting. Wilson isn't that much of an offensive upgrade, and I'm guessing he's a defensive downgrade, at least experience-wise.

edit2: and Casey McGehee has played 22 games at second (when Rickie hurt his wrist). I think he has enough to worry about, although he's been hitting well lately.

Felipe Lopez back for his second tour of duty as a Brewer. Traded from Tampa Bay (minor league) for cash.

Craig Counsell is 0 for 40 currently, with his hitless streak continuing through todays (still in progress) game.

If he's the Felipe Lopez that hit .320 in Milwaukee and not the Felipe Lopez that has sucked everywhere else since, I'm good with that move, especially since they didn't give anyone up. Maybe a change of scenery is just what he needs. And maybe Santa will bring me a unicorn this year.

Prince misses Rickie already - 2 walks so far today.

Well that move should decrease the chance that other teams ask for the moon for Furcal, Carroll, Desmond, whoever now that Milwaukee has some depth.

He struggled with the Rays this year but hit .305/.357/.474 in 207 plate appearances for their Triple-A club.

Welcome back, Felipe. He actually had a decent half-season when he was with the Crew a couple years ago. Here's hoping he can rekindle that magic.

So much for sticking Lopez in AAA and taking some time to figure things out...

A less superstitious person would probably point out that they ARE playing Houston, and Lopez has done well in AAA. But I would never say that myself. ;)

Counsell's pursuit of the 0 for record makes me think back to the heady days of Jose Hernandez's quest for the single season strikeout record.
