This team sux at running the bases. Seriously. I think they skipped that portion of baseball tactics in Arizona. What. The. Crap. Was. That.
Once the first two got tagged out, I thought what the heck, may as well be the victim of the craziest triple play ever. Oh well.

If it makes anyone feel better, apparently Chris Narveson was sick yesterday.

For those who didn't last until the bitter end, McGehee sprained his thumb running into Joey Votto on the last out. He'll be re-evaluated today.

Hey, that was a fun game. Nice to see Axford get a clean save against the Reds.

Injury updates

Hart is back and will start today, Almonte is on the 7 day concussion DL, Saito and Morgan are headed to Nashville for rehab, McGehee is day to day and not serious, and Greinke is starting for Nashville on Friday.

triple post....

Morgan is back today.
You may have heard Greinke is starting tomorrow. :p
Mark Rogers is on the DL with "bilateral carpal tunnel syndrome, which prevents him from having full feeling in his fingertips" - apparently the result of a viral infection.

What the hell is wrong with Gallardo?
Who's going to Nashville when Greinke comes back? Or for that matter, Morgan? The announcers seemed to think that the Brewers were going to get rid of a pitcher today.

Yep, it's Braddock. Placed on the DL due to a "sleep disorder". Which he seems to have acquired overnight.

More on Braddock's sleep disorder, which has been going on for awhile apparently. Definitely sounded fishy, though.

Happy Zack Greinke Day!

Tell me again why the Brewers aren't in the AL Central?

Because Kansas City said "No" to becoming a National League team in the fall of 1997?

wikipedia says the Twins were next, after the Brewers. Very glad they took the opportunity to switch, even if it meant losing our old rivals. I really prefer the NL over the AL.

Insert fork, this team is just about done I fear. I just watched 18 innings of passive swings and misses, craptacular defense of epic proportions, and a marquis pitcher looking like one of Melvin's scrap heap revival projects. Greinke gets a pass for now, but still...put it all together and we were swept in a doubleheader, have lost 5 in a row, and barely have a pulse. I have hope...just not much. :(

I felt the same way the last time they got swept in a doubleheader...then they went on to take 2 of 3 from Philly and everything looked great...this team is twofaced...

Re: Brewers 2011 - Yo...Marcum for the post-season or jen may get a little Greinke

...you know it's May 5, right? ;) not that I disagree with the assessment of the doubleheader, but there's 132 games left.

edit: I tried to quote icebadger, but kept getting a tcp error and it wouldn't let me reply... so I couldn't include the quote. WEIRD.

Fold the franchise.

Fold the franchise.
I don't think I even insinuated as much. There's still time and their division is pretty weak at present, so success is still possible. It's just hard to see that forest from these trees.

Re: Brewers 2011 - Yo...Marcum for the post-season or jen may get a little Greinke

Mr. Plush is out with a broken finger - out 2-4 weeks. He did get the bunt down, though. :p

He was not a happy camper and I can't blame him. 3 games and he's hurt again? And with another freak-ish injury? UGH.

Re: Brewers 2011 - Yo...Marcum for the post-season or jen may get a little Greinke

Does talking about a no-hitter in progress jinx it if it's the other team throwing it?

Just in case: Garcia has a no hitter through 5 for the Cards.

I'm sorry - Garcia has a PERFECT GAME through 6 for the Cards.

PERFECT GAME THROUGH 7 - JINX JINX JINX!!!!!!

Yeah I just caught on to this as the Twins have routed the Red Sox. Time to tune in and see what happens.

Re: Brewers 2011 - Yo...Marcum for the post-season or jen may get a little Greinke

YAY!!!!!! Betancourt kills the no-no in the 8th!!! We may lose our 7th straight but we aren't going to get perfect gamed!!!!

Re: Brewers 2011 - Yo...Marcum for the post-season or jen may get a little Greinke

I'll admit that a small piece of me was rooting for the perfect game. As long as we were going to lose, why not scrape the bottom of the barrel? Might have been a nice wake up call. Though at this point, they shouldn't really need one.

I agree with your logic. You gotta believe this team is going to figure things out eventually but they need to hit rock bottom and stop the free fall pretty soon.
