Re: Brewers 2011 - Yo...Marcum for the post-season or jen may get a little Greinke

I wasn't expecting the game I'll be at to be the Crew's possible first win this season.

I can't believe I'll get to see Lowe vs Yo either.

I will have the jinx, I mean fiancé with tomorrow. Time to break the curse where the Brewers don't win in the regular season with her in attendance*.

*They won when she had a standing room only ticket... Maybe I should pick one up at the gate tomorrow...
You picked a hell of a game to go to, what a win and what a way for Yo to bust up the streak. Complete game 2 hitter! Now that the monkey is off their back lets see what they can do.

Re: Brewers 2011 - Yo...Marcum for the post-season or jen may get a little Greinke

You know, you stole my thunder. I was thinking this same thing. With the weight of trying to get a win gone, they can just go out and play loose, which usually translates into more wins. At least we all hope so......

Meh. It was a typical Yo game. 1-0 where Yo scores the run too. ;) :D

It was an awesome game to be at. Definitely some nervous moments; both Lowe and Yo pitched very well. Had Hayward not popped it up and Uggla overran 2nd late in the game, it may have been a different outcome.

Oh, and someone on the Braves needs to explain to Alex Gonzalez the rules of a base hit. The Chorizo ran faster to first base. :D

The crowd got really loud when Yo stepped back out for the 9th. Everyone (including me) was expecting Axford... but nope. Yo finished his game. :)

tell your fiancee we could maybe allow her to attend a game again, but that was pretty close. :)

how's the new scoreboard?

Hehe. :D

*ing Awesome! That's all everyone around us was talking about for the first couple innings. It's HUGE! And crystal clear. Both lineups are on the sides, the box score and pitch count along the bottom, and they use the center portion for replays, player stats, etc. The HD replays look fantastic.

My cell phone takes crappy photos, but I'll try to post a photo soon.

*edit* Here it is: http://yfrog.com/h2kwfqj Taken at BP. That photo does it zero justice. Ugh. I hate my crappy cell phone.

*edit2* The whole video board (I assume) can do a huge HD sized video display, but they utilize it more like ESPN with a side bar for information and the box score across the bottom.

OK, so a crooked numbered winning streak following the disappointing start. I'd love to see Marcum come back and be sharp today. Estrada really settled in for several good innings after a shaky 1st inning. I wondered if they weren't pushing their luck a little by putting him out for the 6th, but it made sense to give it a shot with his low pitch count and his spot in the order coming up in the bottom of the 6th. He just split the plate on the pitch to Heyward and it didn't go too well. Overall I was pretty happy with his effort for a minor leaguer making a spot start as a #5.

I hate the Bucks so much this time of year.

I remember being a part of dead serious discussions about the Bucks looking like they could contend for maybe 4th in the East and we were hopeful they were better than the Bulls. Today the Bulls are 58-20 and about the wrap up the #1 seed in the East. The Bucks are 32-46 and seeing if they can jump ahead of Charlotte to gain the honor of the last team out of the playoffs.

Nice series win against the Cubs. Chris Narveson for Hobey! Oops...wrong sport.

Very solid homestand once the bats got going a little. Hopefully this sub .500 BS is now done for good this season.

Hart should be back in a week. A catcher probably goes then if nobody gets hurt in the meantime.

Re: Brewers 2011 - Yo...Marcum for the post-season or jen may get a little Greinke

latest on Greinke:

Greinke is scheduled to throw batting practice Tuesday and then again before the end of the week. After that, he should be ready for an assignment in Nashville with hopes of making his debut for the Brewers during the last week of April.

Re: Brewers 2011 - Yo...Marcum for the post-season or jen may get a little Greinke

A disappointing time for a postponement yesterday. When you are on a roll a schedule day off is OK early the season when you are missing Greinke and looking to avoid patching in a 5th starter, but when it takes away momentum and potentially bunches up games it kind of stinks. It's hard to say how often they'll have all hands on deck during a long season where guys get dinged up, but the prospect of shoring things up later this month with Hart and Greinke is exciting. I definitely expect a winning road trip.

Re: Brewers 2011 - Yo...Marcum for the post-season or jen may get a little Greinke

Tony Plush .450 avg .500 OBP
Carlos Gomez .194 avg .231 OBP

It's obviously early, but the team ERA is 3.26. And Greinke's not even back yet.

Article from a couple days ago about Morgan and hockey.

I'm really liking this Tony Plush... err Nyjer Morgan fellow! :)

Love the hockey background (listened to one of the Braves/Brewers games on XM and caught them talking to Nyjer about it during pre-game, definitely piqued my interest).

Re: Brewers 2011 - Yo...Marcum for the post-season or jen may get a little Greinke

Good to see Marcum cruise. Morgan isn't very predictible on how long you can depend on him, but ride him while he's hot. It was a good hedge knowing Gomez is the same way. You just hope for a decent chunk of the season one of them is giving you something. Morgan gives energy and spark. Just keep rolling him out there and hoping the energy stays positive for as long as possible. That's one thing they missed the last couple of seasons was a guy with a bunch of energy and when you throw Macha's old guy on a porch level of energy I think it impacted them.

Re: Brewers 2011 - Yo...Marcum for the post-season or jen may get a little Greinke

Good win tonight! Little hairy at the end there...but Axeford, eventually, got the job done. Team is on a roll right now....if they can keep this up until Greinke and Hart get back, this could be a really, really fun season!

Re: Brewers 2011 - Yo...Marcum for the post-season or jen may get a little Greinke

Note to Tony Plush: Ice is slip-pery! :p

They need to find a way to keep him in the lineup when Hart returns. Maybe they could convert him to a SS.
