Anyone else find it interesting that Prince would go off to play in Detroit and face the inevitable slew of questions about ans comparison to his dad. Hasn't there been a rocky relationship there?

Just read an article last night that Cecil has stated they have "been having some discussions" and that it is much better than it was. No word from Prince either confirming or denying that though, according to the article.

Plush skated with the Sharks a bit today - <a href="http://www.jsonline.com/sports/brewers/138574014.html">article and pictures</a>.

I'm glad he survived without breaking anything. :p

Rumors he has been traded for Joe Thornton are unsubstantiated.

Wonder how many Brewer fans will pony up to get a T-Plush Sharks jersey to wear to games. :D

If I didn't hate the Sharks, I'd think about doing it.

I believe that management has declared Thornton "untouchable" for trade purposes.

He'll never be traded. Book it.

My son's Pavelski jersey will have to suffice.

Or not...

I know he's not a Brewer anymore, just adding to a previous conversation.

Cecil really needs to stop talking, because every time he does, he puts his foot in his mouth. These kinds of articles always have one side of the story - his - and he's usually bad mouthing his son. Maybe Prince doesn't comment because he doesn't want to get the media involved in a family issue or get in a shouting match with his dad in front of the entire country. Cecil has no such qualms.

SPRING TRAINING STARTS NEXT WEEK!

This article got me a little pumped: <a href="http://espn.go.com/blog/sweetspot/post/_/id/20589/nl-central-showdown-position-rankings">ESPN's Position Rankings for the NL Central</a>.

Pretty much what you'd expect - the Brewers infielders are not ranked very highly, but most of the outfielders are. And the starting rotation is the best in the division overall. I was a little surprised to see the 2-3-4-5 starters all ranked #1, but when your "#2 starter" is a #1 for a lot of teams - I guess that's how it works.

ESPN also ranked the bullen #3 but I feel like they need someone else. Who the f is Jose Veras and why is he in the bullpen? Can Kameron Loe rebound from a terrible finish last year? How's Zach Braddock sleeping these days? :p

My favorite quote:

"I know what I did for my son, and he knows what I did for him," Cecil told the Tampa Bay Times. "I'm going to take the high road, stay away from it and not cause any friction. ... You play for the Tigers, I played for the Tigers, do your thing. ... If you want to stay stuck in whatever cocoon you're in, stay there, but I'm not going to join you."
You mean by not talking about it to the media constantly Cecil?

You jest (maybe), but I'm all over this! Gotta keep the doll collection (as the wife calls it) going. Last year's sucked.

About time that Yo gets his!

Wonder what Nyjer's will look like? Will it be T-Plush? Will he still be with the team by then?

A-Rams's might be cool too.

Re: Brewers 2011 - Yo...Marcum for the post-season or jen may get a little Greinke

four more days til pitchers and catchers report.

I plan on googling "Ryan Braun" every 5 minutes today, if possible. 25 days is up and no word.

Nyjer's better be in beast mode. That's the only one I want - I think I'm out of town for Lucroy's. A little odd there's no alum bobblehead this season. Like, you know, maybe Jeff Cirillo.

I forget what sportswriter said that the longer it dragged on, the better it was for Braun. To make it this far, is very favorable. MLB would have made their announcement early in the appeal process had they won.

That makes sense. If it was a cut-and-dried decision, as in - he didn't file for the exemption, so any evidence doesn't matter - they would've known right away. A lot of sportswriters thought that would be the deal, because they hadn't heard of anyone winning an appeal, so they assumed it was impossible to win and an easy decision. Doesn't appear that way so far.

Cirillo would be cool. I'd like to see an updated Burnitz, Sexson and Molitor as all of theirs are the old school, just standing there ones.

Wouldn't mind seeing some nesting dolls again. The ones with Hall, Fielder, Weeks and Hardy were awesome.

Jsonline also said that most of these situations happen during the year, making a quick decision very important. Because this one won't affect his Spring Training, there is really no reason to rush.

With pitchers and catchers reporting in less than 48 hours will we start a 2012 thread or wait until Opening Day? I don't know what to think about the Braun situation. I tend to believe him but despite the Players Association being pretty powerful in many other areas I think you had a better chance of convincing the KGB to change their mind than negotiating with MLB thru the appeal process on this particular issue. The players just have no leg to stand on because their point of privacy concerns looks weak when compared to the suspicion of them truly looking to cover up.

Re: Brewers 2011 - Yo...Marcum for the post-season or jen may get a little Greinke

Nothing yet (I don't want to alarm anyone by posting :p)

I have only googled Ryan Braun 7.. or 8... times today.

wait til Opening Day. Lots of space left in this thread. I will probably have 300 of the 322 remaining posts. :p

I tend to believe Braun also, and maybe that's our Brewer-colored glasses because EVERY guy that gets caught says similar things. I don't think he knowingly took a PED for the purpose of improving his performance or to recover from injury. I think the story about negligence to file for an exemption for a prescription medication sounds more plausible. But - I don't know the guy, so who knows?

Is anyone else concerned about the front end of the bullpen? I still am! I guess Doug Melvin isn't, so maybe I shouldn't be, either.

Buster Olney vis twitter: A decision on Ryan Braun is expected before Feb. 24, the day he would report to spring training.

FWIW, Braun can still participate in spring training including games if suspended.
