effing Braves.

At least we got home field advantage. were you watching, Arizona??? :p

A fun night at Miller Park. The Big Fella got a nice ovation when he came out, as well as Counsell when he came in - could be the last regular season home game for both of them.

Wow! By any chance is that the biggest blown extra inning lead in history?

Just saw <a href="http://www.seattlepi.com/sports/article/Kemp-makes-history-in-LA-s-7-5-win-over-D-backs-2194201.php#ixzz1ZJYJvBIU
">this</a>
Arizona became the second team in major league history — with the Pirates in 1991 — to win after falling behind by five or more in an extra inning, according to information provided to the Diamondbacks by the Elias Sports Bureau.

Game times set:

Game 1 on Saturday: 1:07 p.m.

Game 2 on Sunday: 3:37 p.m.

So there's no conflict with Badger football on Sat, but it completely overlaps with the Packer game on Sunday.

Anyone got any extra tickets?

Attached is a photograph I took of a man (centaur?) sitting five or six rows down from me in the right field bleachers at Miller Park Wednesday night.

He mysteriously showed up in around the fifth or sixth inning, but I can't say for certain because nobody noticed his presence at first until suddenly he was there, almost mythologically.

He stuck to character well; I never heard him say a word, and any time he took a swig of beer he did so through the mouth of the mask.

Around the seventh inning, an usher appeared and attempted to remove either the man or his mask. He budged on neither request, until about an inning later another usher appeared and firmly demanded that he either remove the horse mask or leave the ball game.

Steadfastly, he rose from his seat and was escorted out, to an eruption of boos. According to the usher, post-9/11 security procedures forbid masks of any kind. He never once allowed them to remove it.

Hey, if you REALLY want to see a playoff game, <a href="http://www.jsonline.com/newswatch/130845638.html">there are plenty of tickets left in Arizona.</a> aside: how awesome is that select-a-seat thing???? Why don't we have that??

Someone at work sent an email selling tickets for Game 5 - for 4 times the face value. $225 for 1 ticket? For the World Series maybe. Not the first round. btw, are Game 5 tickets available to the general public? I don't think that was a lottery option.

In 1982, my parents went to the stadium on their lunch break and bought tickets for the playoffs and World Series. Just walked up to the ticket office.

I'm pretty sure the "Game 3 @ Miller Park" were available in the lottery but most of us went for games 1 & 2 because game 1 had to happen and game 2 was at least likely. Game 3 wasn't even guaranteed to be in Milwaukee at the time. And if you think you're gonna get into the word series for $225, good luck.

In 1991, my World Series tickets for Lower Level, Third Base side were $60 each. :)

To answer my own question, apparently the Brewers sent an email and single seats and obstructed views are available this weekend (some AWESOME single seats left), as well as Game 5 tickets. Just picked up some club seats for Game 5. Check your email if you registered (I don't have the email or link here).

Thanks for the heads-up to check my email. I got a single ticket in 424 for Saturday. Ticket was $38 with all fees, parking is apparently going to be $25 (yikes!). I checked on singles for Game 5 and was given the option to buy a diamond box seat for only $206. Too much for me to spend on the NLDS.

cool :) apparently they did not send the email to everyone (I have no idea if I got it, but my mom did - my aunt did not). They had a single on Saturday in Sec 119, row 10 ($95) that I would have taken in a heartbeat if I didn't have tickets to any other games. I have no idea how my mother got club seats for game 5, because right before, she had Uecker seats, and she checked again after she bought the club seats, and got SRO. I am lucky she is retired and has no life. :)

Rick Reilly article on the Brewers: <a href="http://espn.go.com/espn/story/_/id/7038412/rick-reilly-milwaukee-brewers">The funnest team around</a>

I like this quote from jsonline:

"It's kind of like the night before a math test and Christmas Eve rolled into one," said Rick Schlesinger, the Brewers' vice president of business operations. "It's excitement, but also you don't have control over what that first question will be on the math test."

That pretty much sums up how I feel. Did I mention I am already nervous for tomorrow? :)

My mom got upper grandstand seats at County Stadium for the '82 World Series at $18/ea (section 29, IIRC). She had to mail in an application for a lottery drawing. See, there was no interwebs back then...

It's nice to read someone advocating for our fandom, rather than slurping the Phils. I like the part about Roenicke:

"Presiding over all this madness is a librarian in a manager's uniform, bookish Ron Roenicke, who refuses to go by the book. The rookie manager hates the intentional walk (he used it only 16 times all year), brings in Braun as a fifth infielder occasionally and refuses to keep a left-handed reliever on his staff because "then you're stuck with him." Side note: my wife is a librarian.

Re: Brewers 2011 - Yo...Marcum for the post-season or jen may get a little Greinke

Taylor Green and Marco Estrada make the postseason roster instead of Josh Wilson and Tim Dillard.

Also, Greinke is going in Game 2.

Re: Brewers 2011 - Yo...Marcum for the post-season or jen may get a little Greinke

I need to stop being amused and tickled by the apparent excitement and enjoyment the team and its fans have for postseason play and not pay attention because I feel like I will jinx you and don't want that to happen. So.......hey, look....it's hockey season!! Bye!

Please calmly step back and away from the bandwagon, we don't need any of that Red Sox choke around here just in case it's contagious. :D

Major League Baseball has announced that Sunday's game time for the Arizona Diamondbacks-Milwaukee Brewers National League Divisional Series at Miller Park has been moved back to 4:07 p.m. Central.

The game has been moved back to create more separation for the Detroit Tigers-New York Yankees ALDS game. That game is scheduled to start at 2:07 p.m.

Also, MLB has announced the roof will be CLOSED for today's game.
