Again, not condoning his actions, strictly going on facts. Her story about the RA policy is not true. The same sentiment you have was also pointed at naysayers of the Duke lacrosse accuser before that was found to be false. I'm certainly not going to equate the two instances, they are nowhere near the same since it's abundantly clear Trivino committed some sort of wrong. I'm solely commenting to clear that up, something the Freep did themselves. My line of questioning about what level of danger did she really feel when opening her door is one that every single lawyer in the world would ask her, and be totally in bounds in doing so. What happened inside the apartment subsequent to that is another story.

I just want to remind people that there is an option to report posters for personal attacks. In my opinion, accusing a reporter who is great at what she does of being unprofessional and flirting with players qualifies as a personal attack. Hopefully enough of you will agree with me and these morons will be banned.

I think the only point he's making is we shouldn't rush to judgement on this one. It's very probable that this is absolutely awful but until the police report is out and the investigation over we shouldn't call for anybody's head.

This is exactly what I'm saying.

What if the first report on Trivino was "girl accuses Trivino of assault, breaking and entering - accuser falsely cites non-existent BU policy as reasoning for allowing Trivino into room" I suspect the initial sentiments toward Trivino would be at least slightly different.

You're right, and I certainly don't want to argue this much, because it's moot, but if she thought it was her responsibility (it's her job as an RA to know the rules of her job - they drill it into you) and when that misrepresentation of a policy/interpretation of it leads to a breaking and entering charge, it does matter. That's all I'm commenting on, nothing at all about what did or didn't happen inside the room, I don't know what did, there hasn't been any testimony on it, so no one knows the full truth. But it's clear Trivino made a huge mistake of some kind in the situation. To what extent that mistake went, that's what's in question to me.

one involved a person who was no longer associated with the university violating victims who were not associated with the university in places where nobody associated with the university lived.

the other involves persons associated with the university allegedly violating persons associated with the university in places where they and others associated with the university live.

My point exactly! The Penn State incident involved one perp who wasn't even associated with the school, while at BU it was two separate incidents involving two different star hockey players. You can be-little this all you want, but it's just as bad in my book!

My goodness you have issues. The number of people involved is 100% irrelevant when you consider the severity of the PSU charges, length of time over which it occurred, rampant institutional cover-up among university officials, and the fact that one case involved underage children. These two incidents are nowhere near each other. By your logic, if one person at one university commits a heinous murder, if two people at another university get caught carjacking someone on two different occasions, they're on the same level as each other.

Nevermind that MULTIPLE people were arrested in connection with the case at PSU. Is Parker going to be arrested for covering up assaults against female students and not properly reporting it to authorities?

I'm not comparing PSU to Jack Parker, I'm comparing Joe Paterno to Jack Parker. And from reading this thread, it sounds like Nicastro was a ticking time bomb that Parker did nothing about. You can have your opinion, I'll have mine.

Well, most importantly, the story the accuser gave about her opening her door three times due to policy dictating she had to is patently false. There is NO such policy where an RA is forced to open his/her door if they feel they are in danger. I hate to sound as though I'm blaming the accuser, but her reasoning given to police there is factually not true, and makes it perfectly reasonable to question whether she truly felt in danger when she opened her door. Also, while I don't have any info to confirm this, there have been rumors that Trivino and this girl hardly were new acquaintances.

For the love of god, please do not quote me as saying something I did not, and would not ever say. Especially coming from someone who is using this to further your personal agenda against Parker and the program. Don't rope me into that. I by no means support what is being accused of Nicastro and Trivino, and it saddens me that it's associated with a program that's brought much pride to me since I became associated with it, but I also support using facts to make judgments, and don't jump to conclusions before those facts come out.

At what point will regular fans, as I consider myself, and probably more importantly big donors wash their hands of this team and stop attending and giving $$.

I'm not that naive to think that these guys are a bunch of saints, but I'm having a tough time rooting for a team that has had this many bad apples

Not that I saw this coming, but I can't say I am totally thunderstruck by it. Seeing how these guys carry themselves at T's Pub, there is certainly an aura of entitlement among them. Not all of them, but quite a few.
