Re: Boston Universtiy 2011-2012 Part IV: Dont stop fighting til the fight is done!

There is really no easy way to go about this until more facts come out. Being accused of sexual assault is very serious but there have been instances before where someone has been accused of sexual assault and it is no where close to what happened. People will always get riled up over any sexual assault and will immediately jump to conclusions. Unlike the Trivino case, we have no facts beyond he has been charged with sexual assault. When someones is charged, it is usually for a good reason but until more facts come out it is up in the air.

Either way, just the fact that he has put himself in this position is an embarrassment to the team and the entire program. Especially after the Trivino incident. If it turns out to be a horrible misunderstanding then fine but the damage is already done and if it turns out he is guilty then there is absolutely no excuse. For such high profile players to throw away their lives and careers is just mind boggling. I understand that some may call them young but they are adults now and should understand the choices they make. This also comes down to the coaches and especially the captains. It seems unlikely that the captains would not know about problems like this. If they did not, there is something seriously wrong with how the team is set up.

Re: Boston Universtiy 2011-2012 Part IV: Dont stop fighting til the fight is done!

Well, most importantly, the story the accuser gave about her opening her door three times due to policy dictating she had to is patently false. There is NO such policy where an RA is forced to open his/her door if they feel they are in danger. Bottom of the article: http://www.thebostonhockeyblog.com/2011/12/alleged-trivino-incident-extreme.html This begs the question, why would she open her door for Corey three times if she really felt she were in danger? I hate to sound as though I'm blaming the accuser, but her reasoning given to police there is factually not true, and makes it perfectly reasonable to question whether she truly felt in danger when she opened her door. Also, while I don't have any info to confirm this, there have been rumors that Trivino and this girl hardly were new acquaintances.

You asked the question, so don't just leave it hanging. Answer it. Why do YOU think she opened the door? And why are you mentioning unsubstantiated rumors about her? Where is Federal League? Shouldn't he be riding in on his white horse to defend her?

I just want to remind people that there is an option to report posters for personal attacks. In my opinion, accusing a reporter who is great at what she does of being unprofessional and flirting with players qualifies as a personal attack. Hopefully enough of you will agree with me and these morons will be banned.

I can see that Steve's post was deleted (probably by Scott Weighart). A personal attack? Really? If I'm understanding this all correctly, the person in question doesn't even post here anymore due to BU freep policy. Is that correct? So you're all upset about a "personal attack" (disagree) on someone that doesn't even post in this forum? Furthermore, was it not this "great reporter" who brought up the possibility of players flirting to begin with? Please correct me if I'm wrong. And is this the same "great reporter" who said Garrett Noonan has emerged as the premier defenseman in Hockey East? THAT makes you a great reporter? LOL.

Again, not condoning his actions, strictly going on facts. Her story about the RA policy is not true. The same sentiment you have was also pointed at naysayers of the Duke lacrosse accuser before that was found to be false. I'm certainly not going to equate the two instances, they are nowhere near the same since it's abundantly clear Trivino committed some sort of wrong. I'm solely commenting to clear that up, something the Freep did themselves. My line of questioning about what level of danger did she really feel when opening her door is one that every single lawyer in the world would ask her, and be totally in bounds in doing so. What happened inside the apartment subsequent to that is another story.

LOLed at strictly going off of facts, yet you had no problem mentioning unsubstantiated rumors as a way of justifying your skeptical stance. Way to go.

God help me for even thinking of chiming in to this nonsense..... but what I think what his point might be is that you guys are going around calling them rapists, while what happened though horrific and despicable, was less than rape (at least in Trivino's case). Throwing around the rape word is a pretty serious thing.

I know these generalities go both ways in the "rivalry" but I really haven't seen many (if any) BC fans throw around the word rapist. I know I certainly haven't. That's something Rover would do. I agree with you...it's obviously quite serious. Haven't seen anything new on the Trivino case...thought he was due in court in January?

Ehhh.. don't even know how to properly word this, but let's try to stay on topic. If we're going to talk about this, can we focus on the team(s), players, and news... and not individual posters? Thread's getting too crazy. Obviously this is a serious situation.

It's not a question for me to answer, I wasn't there, only thing I'd be able to offer is speculation, but nice try baiting me to answer the question and back myself into a corner. I don't know if she did or did not legitimately feel threatened before answering the door any of the three times, whether she honestly misunderstood BU policy or not. My only comment was to present that it had been proven that her accusation about being required to open her door per BU policy is false. That was reported as much, and is not irrelevant to the case. I have no basis to offer any comment about what her actual state of mind was when opening the door. If what is alleged to have happened inside the apartment occurred as is accused, that is disgusting, a black eye to the university and the program, and Trivino should be punished accordingly. The same goes for Nicastro here, though there doesn't seem to be any details mae public as of yet. The point about her and Trivino having previously known each other really isn't really all too relevant, I should've just left it out, doesn't really serve to add much.

If you don't even have a speculative answer to your own question, there's really no point to talk about that either. Basically, the fact she very well may have lied about a non-existent BU policy becomes completely irrelevant. Don't turn this around on me. You brought it up to begin with.

Re: Boston Universtiy 2011-2012 Part IV: Dont stop fighting til the fight is done!

Are there any sanctions the NCAA can impose on BU for continued off ice issues?

I know you like to hang out here, but look over at the BC thread where "rapist" is being handed out quite a bit.

with all these rapists running around kenmore community college, one would have to think we've finally heard the last of the 'your priest touched you' chant from the fanboys

Back in first in HE, first in PWR, no rapists running around campus -business as usual

if PWR stood for 'problems with rapists', i think we all know who would be #1

Re: Boston Universtiy 2011-2012 Part IV: Dont stop fighting til the fight is done!

Going back to the "rape" thing, one thing we haven't directly discussed is that NiCastro's situation could be more serious than Trivino's. If memory serves, the harshest thing Trivino was charged with was assault with intent to rape while NiCastro is charged with sexual assault. I'm no lawyer but this sounds more serious.

Me thinks it would be a good idea for someone higher than Jack to have a talk with this crew:

“It’s not just him, it’s that whole group of friends and what they think they can do,” Mercurio said. “When you see them out, socially, how they act and what they think, how they think they can act, first of all . . . He’s going after [girls] just because he thinks everyone wants him.”

I think there might be a lot of situations being decided higher than Jack right now. No doubt Robert Brown is involved at this point.

This should be an interesting day on this thread.

not sure if interesting is the right word or not but six pages of posts over night suggests it will be busy here...............it's just a very unfortunate and tragic situation

Re: Boston Universtiy 2011-2012 Part IV: Dont stop fighting til the fight is done!

Even with the all the success that York has had, combined with him running perhaps the cleanest program in the country, if this was happening at BC, I would boycott all future games until York was let go. This is a disgrace of the first magnitude and will be shocked if Parker isn't asked to step down. These are HIS recruits, HIS players and they are HIS responsibility - end of story. Could you EVER picture York having players like this, or Sabo, or Brendan Walsh on his teams? I think not...

Boston.com is reporting that Nicastro is facing a "rape" charge. This is beyond serious compared to Trivinomeansno.

Re: Boston Universtiy 2011-2012 Part IV: Dont stop fighting til the fight is done!

Does anyone know when a non-hockey BU athlete was last arrested? I can't recall. I'm not looking for names, just an approximate date.

Re: Boston Universtiy 2011-2012 Part IV: Dont stop fighting til the fight is done!

At this point, I might be surprised if Parker is coaching the team next year. Totally unacceptable that this happens again.

Thank you! Where are all the Parker suck-ups this morning?

Calm down, Jack Parker is not implicated in this case at all. It's not a Paterno situation where there was a coverup. This is a tragic situation and all guilty parties should be held to account, but nothing suggests Jack Parker is one of them.
