A friend / alum from Denver just sent me this...

Looks like if the next coach is to be Quinn or Sacco, neither of them know about it yet.... unless the talking was done on the "downlow".

Well sure. How many of us here looked for another job and told our current employers WHILE we were looking...

Don't see where you come to that conclusion. The only statement I see in that article is:

Of course, all three men are under contract, and the Avs would have to grant permission to BU to talk to any of the three. As of Sunday night, that had not happened, the team said.
That's a really ambiguous statement. It doesn't even preclude the possibility that BU has requested permission, but the Avs haven't responded.

Parker mentioned Jack Arena!!!

For a while the 2 names at the top of my list were Quinn and Sullivan. However, the more I hear about John Hynes the more I like him. My personal top three in order would be 1) Quinn 2) Hynes 3) Sullivan.

A good article on the choices: http://www.collegehockeynews.com/news/2013/03/11_quinn_leads_list_of_potential.php

mookie has always been a fan of john hynes and would like his chances for success if given the reins.

let us remember though that hynes was quoted as saying if he had to start a team from scratch, the first player he would take....

Just watched the press conference.

Is it just me or did Brown/Lynch have that sort of deer in the headlights look? Here is to hoping that Jack will be more and not less involved in the selection.

We can only hope that the next 40 years are as good as or better than the last 40.

I would say they had the look of two guys who had to sit up on that podium while Parker took 99.9% of the questions, and probably also spoke 75% of the time before the question period.

I'll also say that Brown is a kind of goofy looking dude.

Didn't want to be the first to say that...quite the stache anyway.

Is milbury on the short list? ;)

There are plenty of programs with great facilities that don't perform well because of coaching. Kids go to school to play for a coach first, facilities second. If it was all about facilities, BU would be destroying the rest of hockey east year after year. I really believe that the program will go through a few lean years while a new coach gains traction, its a wonder if the support will still be there for it to grow.

We've already gone through 3-4 lean years. If they make the right choice - Quinn is #1 in my books - and get right assistants - something that Quinn would get right 2 - they could take immediate step up next year. BU is a top 5 program in the country. This should not take long to pick right guy and be back with BC.

Outside of the one great year that came out of nowhere, what was so spectacular about quinn's tenure? And if he left after a few years, who's to say he wants to come back? He could be the guy, bur if I were a fan, I'd want someone outside the last 15 years. Guess I'd rank him behind Sullivan and Hynes.
