Why do I feel like our bluff has been called and we could be stuck showing a 6, 5, off-suit? Yep, I'm ready for a change, but not sure this goes smoothly.

Job Opening: BU Hockey Coach. Seeking a candidate with a sharp hockey mind, who can motivate 18-23 year old's and win. Win lots. Water bottle hucking a plus, but not required.

And to think I only pulled up USCHO for a quick peek before shutting down the computer for the night. Wow.

if a 'ray lewis' is repeated, it'll be the new Miracle :D
99.999999% chance against.

With those odds I'd like to put down $20, please. :D

The last time the BU athletic department had to do a search for a new men's hockey coach was 42 years ago, when RPI's Leon Abbott replaced Jack Kelley, who left after consecutive national championships to take over as head coach and GM of the fledgling New England Whalers.
BU by-passed long-time assistant Bob Crocker (who was also BU's head baseball coach), who left and took the head job at Penn, and came back to knock the Terriers out of the ECAC Tournament.

BU fired Abbott and hired Jack Parker six games into the 1973-74 season. Parker led BU to the first of four consecutive ECAC championships, and BU never looked back.

No question that Abbott got a raw deal, for recruiting so-called professional players - Canadian Jr. A players Bill Buckton, Peter Marzo and Dick Decloe, who were all later exonerated and cleared as amateurs. But Abbott was already gone, eventually taking over at St. Lawrence.

Well this is interesting news for sure. I said all along that this was his final year and I think he knew it all along as did the administration.

Anyway, today seems like a great day to smear a Globe journalist!

You forgot the quote marks on "journalist!" :D

No, I forgot "award-winning"...

Anyway, she really should retract her story now that Colby Cohen said it wasn't true. I mean duh!

Mary had the option of looking to interview people who were there, or attacked.... Instead she spoke with alumni who had no relationship to anything that was going on... Other than being a woman and an activist.

Her choice

More of a hockey subject: Am I the only one who thinks it is stupid that we will basically be hurting our "at large" chances if we win this weekend?

Yeah yeah, I know just win. :)

If we win in 2 we are actually better off than we are now, we would still need to win the semi finals to have a chance to make it. And this whole hurting ourselves business is assuming MC would win their series if they weren't playing BU.

Yes. And the bigger problem is that it might go to three games (which it usually does)...I wish we could just win one of these series in two straight. (not that I'm getting greedy all of a sudden and I know what it's like to try to beat someone 5 times in a row (remember Worcester in 2006) :)
