Sounds more like you're describing senior only events. 100 days (100 days till graduation), not prom formal though or commencement ball which is pretty formal with the trolley/limo type transportation.

IIRC Back Bay Ball is open to all undergrads. However, from my recollection its attendance is typically upperclassmen-heavy.

I think COM (or College of Communication for non-BU folks) also has an annual "COM Prom" that is well-attended by COM undergrads (and some of their non-COM friends).

Apparently. I never went to one, so I don't really know. But I think it's more just that they like getting dressed up and going to some downtown hotel. It's basically the same event as that one the Tufts kids had at the Westin where they all got wasted and puked and peed in the lobby that landed them on the front page of the Globe.

Somehow the acts of getting dressed up and peeing in the lobby don't seem to fit well together.

I see Nieto "dropped a deuce" last night on Merrimack. Much better than doing it on a girl's car. :D

If only he can do it vs. Lowell when Carr is in goal, that would be a great one.

Re: Boston University season thread - strike 3! last man there turn out the lights.

So in a sudden, giddy, unrealistic surge of optimism I just purchased my seats for the Hockey East semis. I actually did it through the Bruins (I received an email because I had ordered from them before). Was able to save about $14 in "service charges" that I would have incurred had I gone through TicketShafters. :) Loge, Section 16 - Row 15. I don't really like to sit down too low so I don't have to look through the glass. I paid $32.50/seat instead of $39.50 and there was a $5 purchasing fee for the entire order - NOT per ticket - so a total of $70 for the entire order.

She told me if anyone was interested I could give them her name. The seats are ONLY in the corner loges (well, they have balcony too but I didn't ask about those). So basically Sections 4, 5, 8, 9, 15, 16, 19, & 20. Has to be done over the phone during work hours - no email or online.

i did something similar to that last year. I was given a guys name in the B's ticket office to call ( forgot how i got his name) but he told me this was the B's wanting to fill up the building and recognizing that HE Tourney attendance had fallen off so they were cutting the fees etc but you had to call the Bruins

Going through BU (without fees), you have to buy the full package/both nights, and I have a hard time commiting both Fri and Sat night to schlepping into The Garden. Going on ticketmaster a loge seat ends up being $50+ per ticket once you pay the fees... which seems like a lot when you are used to paying $22 for a college hockey game.

Not having the fees helps a lot.
