By the way... "Do you believe in miracles?!!?"

Bavis also has to go.

Question regarding Bavis:

He has been here for what? 15 years?

It is odd for an assistant to stay in one place for this long?

Is he that loyal to BU and Jack? Or has he not been able to get a head coaching position somewhere? Or not have interest in a head coaching position elsewhere? Or convinced that if he stays they will throw the keys to Agganis to him when JP retires?

Or maybe plenty of assistants stick around for this long?

When Parker was throwing his nutty after Lowell's third goal, I swear I saw Bavis at the other end of the bench laughing at him.

In fairness to Jack, that no call on the slash prior to Lowell's third goal was a disgrace. That said, it wouldn't have mattered, we weren't scoring tonight. I'd love to have been at whatever game Parker was watching based on his postgame quotes.

Could be he knows he won't get a job like this anywhere else except for his alma mater for a coach he played for?

Anyway, glad I skipped this game. If Parker sticks around I can see a lot of people ditching their season tickets. Its sad to see it happen this way but the team quitting on him is becoming the norm, not just this year but in general. That can't continue.

I'll be ditching my season tickets, but I'd be doing that even if they hired Jerry York.

I agree, Lowell got away with one there. The BU player had his stick chopped right out of his hands, and it was right in front of the Ref.

I'm pretty sure BU could have played another 3 periods and they still would be looking for their first goal.

What's that? They play Lowell again tomorrow?

Did we get one quality shot on goal?

The Lowell kid got a shutout, and it was a real stretch to give him the No. 3 star. BU was that poor. No quality chances.
There are a lot of people sitting in the stands that could have got a shutout tonight against that feeble effort.

There are some assistants that are paid better than a lot of head coaches at other schools. Grant Standbrook had that kind of deal at Maine.
I'm sure that Bavis is very well compensated.
He is loyal to BU and to Jack. But I doubt he will seriously be considered for the job whenever it finally opens up.

By the way... "Do you believe in miracles?!!?"

How lame was it that there was no mention of that tonight? Absolutely amazing!

Carting out Eruzione, as well as Craig, Silk and O'Callahan, if they were around, would have provided some much needed life in the building.

Re: Boston University season thread - strike 3! last man there turn out the lights.

When the Bruins twice offered Jack Parker their head coaching job - and the years when the Whalers, Kings and Ducks were all rumored to want him - I worried about what would happen to the program without him.
Now I worry about what the program will look like if he stays on much longer.

Dr. Frankenstein would had an equal chance of injecting life into the building...

And the GD replacement announcer had to stop calling us "Boston" ***? Does he work for the NCAA?

So, will either bball team make the tourney?

BU Hockey:Optimism just took the last T out of town

Zero percent chance. America East has banned them from the post-season tournaments since the school is leaving the conference. The women's team is actually really good, 24-4 or something, but there's no way the AmLeast is getting an at large bid.
