Re: Boston University Part IV: Off-Season or New Season?

Gonna be two C, at least one A

Gonna be a jr with a letter as well.

Connolly C
Chiasson C
Ruikka A
Nicastro A

.....I'm pulling straws...

Fed League, did you speak to Parker about the fallout from the formation of the Big10 Hockey Conference? Any comments?

Knew there was something I forgot to ask about in our sitdown with him. Crap. I'll see what I can do to get a quick phone interview at some point.

My guess is it's gonna be one C and two A's. Connolly's obviously a lock to keep a C and I think Chiasson's pretty much a lock to get at least an A. My guess would be Connolly with a C and Chiasson and Ruikka with A's. If it's two C's and two A's like you predict, I'd agree with Connolly and Chiasson being the two C's and I'd give the A's to Ruikka and Gaudet.

Re: Boston University Part IV: Off-Season or New Season?

loyalty points statement in the mail today.... interesting that there are 14 season ticket holders for the girl's hockey that have given to the school
As a season ticket holder and supporter of the women's program I would appreciate your elaborating on your comment.

Did you get your statement?

At the bottom there is a section that shows the number of season ticket holders in each sport that have points (boys/girls bball & boys/girls hockey). I read "14". That surprised me.

Re: Boston University Part IV: Off-Season or New Season?

Defensemen could hit anything that moved in front of tnet and never get called. I remember Bob Brown and Ric Jordan as being monster enforcers who would never have let a Gionta or Gerbe pull those stunts in front of the net.

You must mean scoring all those goals ;)

(4) The Hockey East officials call WAY too many penalties. ESPECIALLY Benedetto. He was a disgrace in the UMD/Union game.

haha seemed to me it was actually Hansen calling the majority of the penalties in that game. It was amusing see the looks of the coaches though. Not sure if anyone has a quick way of doing this, but I'd be interested in knowing the average number of penalties called per game based on the league.

Are Shaunessy and Eric Gryba perhaps the 2 biggest BU d-men over the past 2 generations? Sure Tom Morrow, Jeff Kealty & Stephen Foster (blast from the past!) were tall & lanky, but I think for sheer size, Shaunessy and Gryba were probably as big as we've seen patrolling the BU blue line.
Scott's brother Steve was a pretty big one too.

Re: Boston University Part IV: Off-Season or New Season?

Thanks again to you, Jake and Arielle for all the info all season long. Can't remember if you started it this season, but the post-game grades were a nice addition.

Don't forget Sam! He only missed three games if I'm remembering correctly.

My bad. Sam too. I probably should have also thanked Rogie and the Terrier blog and all the other posters too. I read all of it after the games. The news wasn't always good but it was always appreciated.

Re: Boston University Part IV: Off-Season or New Season?

Good stuff. It sounds like he is really going to push for Bavis to be the next coach.

If this is the case, then all this stuff that people are talking about... setting up for transition and all.. seems like it's all in place.

When and if the time comes, I think Bavis would be an excellet steward of the program.

Really? I'm not seeing it.

Does Pat Chambers Know Anything About Hockey?

Well, Bavis is the only one Parker mentioned by name and said he was a "very successful guy and he’s well thought-of in the business and well thought-of by me"....

He also said there were other BU guys, but didn't go out of his way to mention any by name.

Seems as if in some ways the writing is almost on the wall here.

I think by "other BU guys" he's talking about guys not currently in the BU program and may be coaching elsewhere, thus dropping their names to the media as a potential candidate would not be appropriate since it puts the other coach in a position of having to answer whether he's looking to leave. Bavis is on his sideline so talking about him as a potential successor doesn't put him in that situation.

Yes, I received my statement. I am interested in why you are surprised. Because there are so many or so few?
