Re: Boston University Offseason Thread 2: Moving Forward by Booting Forwards

Your theory is that compliments from him are given extremely sparingly, my comment was I wouldn't go that far. One letter cannot prove that he very rarely gives comments, it can only show one time when he didn't give many.

hey, he has an opinon. I know his evaluation pales compared to the 3 stooges but what to heck, we might as well hear it

Why the hesitation to answer when you were so quick to previously state how frequently you talk to him. Has this just never come up in the past few months?

Never said anything of the sort.

Well what about St. Louis' front office, do they not have numerous people with more knowledge of hockey than any of us? Yet they still traded the next Bobby Orr for a mere Sobotka?

they needed a player to play now, to get something you have to give up something.

Not many prospects get traded for a current player straight up. Shows the value both orgs put on him.

Slasher, Nick and JD. Please email them immediatly so they can rescind, I think they have a 48 hour window. The 3 stooges

Just curious, but did I ever say this was a terrible trade for the Bruins or anything even close to that?

Yes, but if a player has the intensity and the drive to succeed at the next level even with that limitation, I would say Warsofsky has that chance as much as anyone else does.

And it seems that you are coming into the BU thread, with some other BC posters to basically slam Warso's chances of making it before he's even tried.

That might not be your intention but its how you're coming across.

TBA, I agree that Warsofsky has a chance because he is very talented. I just think at his size and position, it makes it a lot harder. I shouldn't be coming across that way. My issue is with hokydad, not Warsofsky.

Bingo.

It's refreshing to see Bruins management praise a player they just acquired. I'm so sick of teams trading for players and then immediately slamming their shortcomings in the press.

LOL

Probably. laughed when he was named MVP of Calder

Gee... way to stray off the point, Candyvan.

Was the point of my post that Ray Bourque likely laughed at everyone that said his kid was too small for the NHL? And yet you're throwing a Calder MVP at me, which is NOT an NHL award. Add in that he just signed with a KHL club (oh I'm sure he's passing up the NHL for the KHL) already being in the thread before you throw a Calder MVP trophy into the conversation and you clearly have your head in the gutter.

The bums always lose, Lebowski.

Re: Boston University Offseason Thread 2: Moving Forward by Booting Forwards

According to yesterdays' Globe, he'll be at BU one more year and then he'll turn pro. I guess he forgot to mention that at the kitchen table...

"Warsofsky most likely will spend one more season at BU, then turn pro. He projects to be a power-play specialist in the NHL."

I assume this is the section you're referring to. Please note the use of the words "most likely." Doesn't sound like a done deal to me, as you implied.

Also, I don't know who Fluto's source for that is, but Warsofsky told me on Monday that he plans to finish his career at BU. Of course if the B's tell him they want him to leave after this season, that changes things. But I doubt there's any sort of final decision yet, and I doubt there will be until after the season, so to say he will or won't leave is kinda pointless right now.

Yup, that's the article I was mentioning that Candyvan didnt' think existed. I guess we'll see.

Bingo.

You say the first paragraph and follow it up with Bingo. What a moron

Re: Boston University Offseason Thread 2: Moving Forward by Booting Forwards

Since this whole conversation is both moot and boring, I'm changing the topic to something else moot and boring. Looks like Chris Bourque's time with the NHL is up for now - lots of talk that he's headed to the KHL.

Does anyone know if he took Russian at BU? :p

a blog comment is an "article" in the globe, insinuating facts

Nice try slasher, you are clueless

The article does not exist.

Neither DW or anyone at the Bruins has said or insinuated anything close to that.

It was a simple point. If you say the Bruins management knows more than me and that's why they acquired/like Warsofsky...what does that say about St. Louis? Why would they ever trade someone as good as you think Warsofsky is?

How does that make me a moron? You don't know how to use the quote function, follow that up by tossing a bunch of crap together and then top it off with an insult.

Get the following through your head:

I am not saying anything bad about David Warsofsky.

Really? So saying bingo to a backhanded slap to DW/next Bobby Orr is a good thing?

moe and larry are calling shemp

Chiarellis quote in Flutos blog/slasher article

Warsofsky, a Marshfield native, will be a junior this fall. GM Peter Chiarelli said he has no plans of convincing Warsofsky to leave school.

Lighten up. The post I responded to was a joke from, get this, a BU fan. Think he likes Warsofsky?

The emphasis of that post was on comparing NHL organizations' evaluation of talent, specifically St. Louis and Boston. The emphasis was not Warsofsky, nor was anyone taking a shot at him.
