Re: Boston University 2012-13 Season Thread -- Up To The Task?

Classes begin next Wed 1/16 I believe so I wouldn't expect a huge crowd especially with it on TV as well. They got 4500 for RPI on Friday so I would expect about 3500-4000 for this one

Edit: The box office gave away 2 free tickets to all young alumini so there might be a better crowd than expected

They gave away free tickets to every season ticket holder for Friday's game. Not sure how many got used. Midweek will be a tougher draw... but maybe not for the young alumni.

With uncanny timing, BU advertises on local radio that tickets are available for tonight's game. Shoot, for that matter, buy tickets to ANY remaining home game! A night out with the guys! Or the whole family! Get the pro experience at a fraction of the price!

They know the lockout ended, right? And at $32.30 per ticket for a Wednesday night game against Harvard in an empty arena, how many will say, "Hey, that was just like a Bruins game. Whoooooo!"

When I go to a Bs game, TD is usually banged out. And when I buy a sausage at the Garden, six workers don't all act surprised and stand around waiting for a manager to give the ok to grill another one. I digress. Point is, Agganis better hope nobody takes them up on their offer, because I think the comparison with the Bruins might suffer tonight.

HAA concessions are a ****ing joke.
That is all

First of all...hats off to Harvard for making some great plays and never quitting. The better disciplined and coached team won.

Now...

O'Conner 12 GA in 2 games? Never seen or played a short-hop before? Yikes. He's awful.

I've never seen such a poorly coached BU team. Up 3 goals with 10 minutes to go and you're consistently careless with the puck, in way too deep in the offensive zone and giving up a ton of odd man rushes.

Players and teams get worse under Jack and Bavis. They just do.

Quick, give me a worse loss in the last ten years. Absolutely inexcusable.

Holy Cross just last year ranks up there. Still an abhorrent performance tonight.

Edit: Oh, and Providence in January of '09 as well.

Gentlemen, gentlemen! There are plenty of bad losses to talk about. :p or rather :(

Harvard goals #3, 4, and 5 -- were there any defenders within five feet of the goal scorer?

Re: Boston University 2012-13 Season Thread -- Up To The Task?

What Dave said. And O'Connor was fighting the puck all night.

I'm still in denial. No way they lost this game.

Well there certainly wasn't a goalie.

Re: Boston University 2012-13 Season Thread -- Up To The Task?

Did "Coach Cranky" toss any players under the bus to the Press after the game?

Jack Parker on his team's 6-5 OT loss to Harvard tonight: "I don’t think I had one guy that played well."

How about the follow up question of: Why do you think that is? These types of losses seem to be common for BU regardless of the players on the ice. Any comment on that?

Re: Boston University 2012-13 Season Thread -- Up To The Task?

I'm just proud that BU has gone like 3 straight games without a diving/embellishment penalty (and sexual assaults too... that we know of).

when noonan went off i txt "dive" to scarlet and got a nasty reply.

megan got a little hit from behind late in the 3rd crossing the blue line and flapped his arms out like a bird taking flight.. if that was earlier i could have seen a whistle come out :D
