Does anyone ever what would have happened if Jack took the job with the Bruins and then Pat Burns ended up landing at BU? :D

Is tonight going to be one of those games where the concession service sucks because the students are on break?

Yes, and probably no beer only kiosks even though I have my 3 cents ready! :(

Megan out, Myron to 1st line(???), mosko finally getting a chance to play, previtera suspended, Rosen up to 3rd line...

Did my eyes deceive me? Did we have just one penalty tonight?

Re: Boston University 2012-13 Season Thread -- Up To The Task?

It would appear that the message has been received, loud and clear.

Very good discipline-wise, of course our main offender #6 wasn't on the ice. That's about all that was very good, other than some solid effort in the third period coupled with some incredibly boneheaded penalties taken by RPI. I'd like to chalk this one up to a hard to get up for opponent in a dead arena with two main players sitting out and lines jumbled up all over the place, but with the egg at DU, it remains to be seen if this sluggish play is a trend or just a hiccup. That said, Moscatel skated well tonight, I'd like to see more of him, he certainly seemed like a serviceable option on the fourth line tonight. Who knows if with a bit more playing time he could become a fourth line mainstay.

Glad for a win, glad to hear people saying we played smart.

If I had zero, would that mean mookie wasn't obsessed with york? ;)

Correlation does not imply cauterization! Or something like that. :p

Smart with respect to penalty discipline. The first two periods were only a marginal improvement over the DU game. The third and OT were much, much better. Parker said he apparently switched up the lines in the second INT, so that likely played a role.

Re: Boston University 2012-13 Season Thread -- Up To The Task?

rumor has it Arena was approached for the UMass job and seriously considered moving..

Not to state the obvious, but THAT "move" doesn't involve uprooting his family, since both schools are in Amherst. After 30 years in the same town does he really want to consider actually "moving" (as in selling his home and relocating, etc)? Just speculating...I don't have an opinion one way or another but moving to another school in the same town is not exactly the same thing as taking another job "elsewhere."

Two penalty minutes?! That's what I'm talking about! The played the puck and weren't flying around out of control. They played hockey! Very, very pleased with that. Also psyched about the win.

OK...Some griping: It seemed like BU couldn't get the puck for most of the second period and was out of position. Glad they seemed to wake-up in the 3rd and OT. RPI seems very well coached. Did they get tired or did BU make some changes?

How long is Megan out for? He needs to be in there as he was clearly missed.

Re: Boston University 2012-13 Season Thread -- Up To The Task?

First game I've been able to take in live for a while. Some observations in no particular order...

Kudos to RPI for playing a strong attacking game. They were always all over BU and didn't give them any room or time to work, great hustle on their part. I think they are a much better team than their record indicates.

Next, several of the BU dmen need skating lessons and a swift kick in the butt, seemed very often to lose balance, make very poor decisions and give up the puck (same for somewhat lazy efforts that could have cost BU) and often does.
What is with all the circling around in the defensive zone when RPI (and other teams playing against us)? If you have the chance to skate or pass the puck out of the defensive zone, DO IT! So often that curling stuff leads to loss of possession/ goals against

The first half of the game looked like BU was still in Denver or on break... come on guys, the game is 60 mins long, so play it that way from the beginning
Love that Moscatel finally got into a game... he did not look out of place at all. Hopefully JP will have another opportunity for him.
When, O When will BU score another PP goal? Things are NOT working there. They need to change up the personnel or the team will suffer in the playoffs. Doesn't anyone on the coaching staff see that?

Megan was missed, hope he's back soon. When BU scored, they were solid goals, well deserved. What a great snipe by Hohmann. Mr. Clutch!

Smart move near the end moving Santana back to Rosen's line. They looked really good then. Congratulations to Santana on getting his first goal. True hustle kind!

Maguire again saved BU again with his clutch goaltending. RPI goalie was great as well... could have been a 6-5 game but for them.

Lastly, only 1 penalty? Who put on the BU jersey's? See, it CAN be done.

Good luck against HAAAARVAAAD!
