Re: Boston University 2011-2012: Part The Sixth

Totally agree with you. I dislike that they do it after the game but if they're going to do it after the game they need to do a better job of announcing it and getting people to stay. I thought they did a better job of that up in Vermont, though the student section vanished as soon as BU won it in OT. I heard several annoucements about the post game ceremony there and did not hear nearly as many at Agganis.

I agree they need to do a better job promoting it and announcing it. On the flip side, how many people will really be in the stands at 6:45 or even 6:50 for this? I'd bet not that many more... and at least if they do it after, they have the chance of announcing it during the game. I think after the game can be more relaxed too... not having to rush to squeeze it in before the drop of the puck.

I think no matter when you do it, there is going to be a mixed bag of how many people are in the stands.

While they could probably do a better job of encouraging people to remain in their seats after the game, I seriously doubt it would lead to many more staying. Fact is, a lot of people just up and go. Outside of the handful of us who truly care about the team, for many, a BU game is a social/corporate event and they couldn't care less about thanking the graduating seniors. And that's a Snapple fact.

This all may be true... and would likely be the same for regarding people showing up early for it... (unless you told everyone the game started at 7, but really started it at 7:15 in order to have the presentation)... but then you might just find people taking extra time to mill about the concession area.

I think your opinion overstates the social/corporate nature of BU home games by a large degree.

Nice statement from Gilroy.
With his sincere humility and gratitude, he'll do well in life.
We can certainly use more of those attitudes.

Wow, is Colin Wilson deep in the dog house. The Preds suspend two forwards and Colin isn't one of the guys in the mix to get in the line-up for game 3.

Where did you see that? He played in Game 2, and everything I've read makes it sound like he'll stay in the lineup.

I was going to say the same thing Bomber did. Given that he hadn't been playing to date, I hadn't bothererd to check to see if he played in Game 2. But if you are right, then that makes a little more sense. I mean it's not like he had a terrible season, and he's always been pretty good on all three zones, so I was wondering what had gotten him benched.

Re: Boston University 2011-2012: Part The Sixth

I stand corrected. I missed that he played in Game 2. I was watching post-game on the NBC Network and they put up a graphic of the three forwards in the mix to replace the two suspended dudes. I didn't realize Colin wasn't one of them because he was already in the line-up. Who did he skate with?

Re: Boston University 2011-2012: Part The Sixth

I thought they played pretty well together in game 2.

Just got the letter... officially into BU

Hmmmmm.

Kurker just tweeted " Just got the letter... officially into BU". Don't know if that means he is coming in next year now or just isn't decomitting

As FL said on Twitter, does not necessarily mean he's coming to BU this year, could be a formality in case a scholarship opens up, and he can decide to defer enrollment to fall of '13, but it would seemingly make it very clear he is not decommitting.

I don't post often, but I noticed on Ebay that someone is selling press pictures of Travis Roy's accident. I emailed the seller to see if they plan to donate the proceeds to the Travis Roy Foundation. I have not gotten a response.

Re: Boston University 2011-2012: Part The Sixth

I just heard back and the answer was:

Hello,
Yes, of course it will be donated, unfortunately his foundation is not affilitaed with the ebay direct Charity Works program so it can't be made directly through ebay .. if the photos sell, the proceeds will go directly to the TRF .. thanks for your interest.
