Re: Boston University 2010 Offseason I - The Year after the Year after effect

A 100% big no to all 6 questions. Also called NCAA and said you are 100% wrong. A friend can give a gift to a student athlete anytime they want. Just cant do so loooking for perks back

Dont worry though, I will keep it until after he graduates. If he is not an NHL all star by then and its not worth Bobby Orr like money, I will pass it on. Wouldnt want you to lose sleep over it. Continue on with your shallow life

you are 100% wrong

A guide for Fans and Friends of Boston University Athletics

Have you ever:

Been a member of any organization promoting BU Athletics?
Made a donation of money, gifts or services to any BU athletics fund?
Helped to arrange employment for prospective or current student athletes?
Been involved in promoting BU athletics in any way?
Been a member of a varsity team at BU?
Are you the parent or guardian of a current or former BU student athlete?
If the answer to any of the above is "yes," you are what the NCAA defines as a "Representative of Boston University's Athletics Interests," a designation you retain for life! As a Representative of Athletics Interests, you are bound by NCAA rules regarding your interaction with prospects and student athletes, and Boston University is responsible for your actions. In many cases, the eligibility of a student athlete or prospective student athlete may be affected by what you know or don't know about these rules. Please click on the link above for important information about the Do's and Don'ts of being a Friend of Boston University Athletics.

We operate under the assumption that it is always better to ask the question than to do something that may not be permissible.
Thank you for your informed support of Boston University Athletics!

Absolutely wrong. A friend cannot give a gift to a student athlete while they have amateur status. Feel free to check out the BU fan's posting of BU's compliance rules. Did you call the NCAA or did you just go to their office and wave at people in the cubicles (you know, people you don't know?)

If not, simply give Warso the jersey and we'll copy and paste this thread, send it to BU's compliance department and we'll see what happens...

My shallow life? Says the guy who stalks high school/college kids and posts their info on the internetz.

Re: Boston University 2010 Offseason I - The Year after the Year after effect

Gee, and here I thought all that was going to come of this was hokydad was going to tape "31" and "CANATTA" on the sweater and send it to north Andover with a note the read "Shoudl have been you're team!"

:D :p

Re: Boston University 2010 Offseason I - The Year after the Year after effect

Slasher, are you implying that these kids can't even get a bucket of coal for Christmas?!? ;)

Re: Boston University 2010 Offseason I - The Year after the Year after effect

A 100% big no to all 6 questions.

Oh good, you're not who I thought you were!

But at the same time, you're as dopey/hokey as I thought you were.

Denny Green, anyone? Or would two wacky interviews be too many for this thread.

Re: Boston University 2010 Offseason I - The Year after the Year after effect

Only Hokydad can get BC fans to warn someone to avoid doing something so BU and one of their players doesn't get punished. Congrats, Stalker, you should be involved in the middle east peace process.

I know!![/Monica Gellar] I, for one, appreciate your efforts to try and inject some facts to this issue but having lived thru reading hokydad's version of reality over the past season, I probably should have warned you off. It just doesn't work.

No problem. I dont think anyone wants to see any school/player get in trouble for something this stupid, even a rival school.

It's amazing how close hokydad is to numerous programs and players...has anyone been able to reveal his identity?

Yeah, I appreciate the sentiment and enjoyed your factual posts on the topic also, and everyone can see that your smarter than hoky. Eventually we'll just stop responding to his idiocy on the topic and he'll tire himself out.

Re: Boston University 2010 Offseason I - The Year after the Year after effect

I haven't seen someone take a beating on this board like hokydad did today in a long long time.

I hope he doesn't call me a "fool" again.

Re: Boston University 2010 Offseason I - The Year after the Year after effect

If anyone has any good photoshop skills, please email me. I'm hoping to get a good picture created of a van and then get that Warso (happy, ewe?) jersey picture shrunk to a manageable size and put up on the van. Maybe put some posters of Michael Jackson, Stone Temple Pilots, and Radiohead on the side of the van as well. And some bags of candy and MAYBE a USHL logo.

I got bored, enjoy all. ;) (click for full size)

Hokydad, are you really saying that it is ok for a non-relative to give a substantial gift to a college athlete? What planet are you from?
