USA won gold in Minsk today, beating Sweden 3-1. Clendening had a secondary assist on the third goal by Rocco Grimaldi.

Nieto had no points, no penalties.

The box score in the other thread shows an assist for Clendening on the 3rd goal, by Grimaldi. The GWG by Faulk was assisted by Shore and Czarnik. Is there a diff. box score floating around or just a minor mistake?

IIHF has changed it in their boxscore or I read it wrong.

The ice cream is the worst. It is physically impossible to get during intermission. They are the slowest ice-cream scoopers I have ever seen.
It's hilarious that they prepare hot foods waaaaaay before being served, yet give us that freshly scooped and packed ice cream cup. It's crappy Hood ice cream, fortheluvogawd! If it's not going to be some real ice cream- myriad possibilities here- then just give us a sport bar or a hoodsie cup and be done with it. That way we won't miss a third of the game.

I've corresponded with Kris Brassil before. I don't know what is so difficult to understand about "your hot dogs are cold and rubbery by the time they are served", but he (obviously) never did anything about it. And apparently the revolutionary idea of offering fresh chopped onions for hot dogs is still stuck in the R&D department at Agganis. Maybe in a few years they will have figured out a way to screw that up and THEN onions will be offered.

Meanwhile, yesterday I discovered that Richardson's Ice Cream in Middleton has 2 Kayem All Beefs for $2. And somehow they are fresh, hot, and served according to customer request (onions and mustard here.) I was positively giddy.

Honestly, my biggest complaint is the food service. The lines at the DMV move faster than these. On a similar topic, the closure of the far end food bar when students are away rots as well. It makes the other snack bars unbearable.

Also, if I'm going to pay $2 per chicken finger, it ought to have been cooked in the same hour as eaten. Cold chicken fingers are an underwhelming food item. Lastly, it is just BS that I can't get a cup with my bottle of water. That's right, I'm going to split my $4 water between my two kids - oh, the humanity.

The survey did specifically ask about the quality of the chicken finger boat, and the general service, and speed of service, at the concession stands. You clearly want to share your experiences, and they claim, for the only time in 5+ years, that they want to listen. Shoot off an email

There were at least 3 questions about the ice cream stand. If they're asking you might as well answer...

I've actually seen the one of the "kitchens" where they cook the concessions in use, I'm not surprised gourmet food isn't coming out of them. And same thing I mentioned for BUT09 about the ice cream.

Also if kbrassil@bu.edu doesn't seem to respond to your ideas you can always let his boss, Executive VP Joseph Mercurio know, at mercurio@bu.edu

Father's used to feed me on Thursday and Friday nights. At 4p they would get delivered a bigass foil tray of wings. Wing It on Friday and Popeyes on Thursday. I would buy a beer or two and eat all the free wings I could fit. Man that was friggin great. Gonna spend $$ on beer anyhows and free food!

I would also like it if BU would score most of its goals in the first and third periods since that's where I sit.

Overall, the food at Agganis is up there with the worst arena food anywhere. Quality, Service, Speed, not much redeeming about any of it.

They should not need to have surveys filled out. Maybe they should just try going to a game and experienceing it for themselves.

I mean, I dont expect any arena food to be great... but come on.

Compared to Conte, I think Agganis has great food. At Conte, the choices are very limited unlike Agganis where you guys have a wide variety of food and beverages. I know the service is not great at Agganis but I would swap in a heartbeat and take Agganis's food selection. Just my input.

Quantity, not quality.

You guys are too young to remember Riley's Roast Beef! Now that could not be beat at 3AM after a night in the Allston bars!
Do you remember Jack in the Box? Jack use to take a lot of crap from us drunks at the drive through at 3AM.

Re: Boston University 2010 Offseason I - The Year after the Year after effect

Ahhhh....memories of Fathers First. How it went from nothing to the "hot" hang out, to....well eventually shut down. One of my memories was walking in there on a weekend afternoon, must have been summertime, because it was dead. Six old men at the bar, and porn on the tube. :D

And Marty's burning down right around the corner. I lived on Glenville right behind there after the fact. Our favorite pastime after a few beverages - launching water balloons from the roof. Man we could get some serious distance. Scared the crap out of people waiting for the T. Couldn't quite reach Great Scotts, though. Then we got busted :(

One Word: Beer.

Two More Words: Anchor Steam.

Who cares about food when you've got beer? Eat before or after the game...Pick up a pretzel or something they can't mess up at the game if you're really that hungry...Otherwise drink and be merry.

Re: Boston University 2010 Offseason I - The Year after the Year after effect

i asked this last summer - what a guy the same age as Parker would bring?.. people older than i ( ) that know him typed that he had great contacts in ontario and would be able to provide top level recruits.

Went into the archives and FWIW There is a 7 year difference in age between Jack Parker and Buddy Powers.

Jack is 3/1945
Buddy is 4/1952

Re: Boston University 2010 Offseason I - The Year after the Year after effect

I was THE reason FF had a sign that read "pitchers are for two or more people". :p

I was also in father's fifth (Marlborough st) as an underaged 20 yo the night the doors opened and 30 BPD stormed in. We all **** ourselves, until they turned and left. Later on we learned that a cop was shot :(

I don't buy stadium food at all really, I just can't justify the price on my college student budget. However, I much prefer a sub shop that makes only steak and cheese subs, but they are amazing, than a place that runs the gauntlet from chicken, to pork, to vegetarian subs, but they are all mediocre. Not quite comparable to your scenario, since no one claims the Conte concessions are heavenly, but that's just where I'm coming from.
