Maybe wants to go play... Like percella did with bentley

I guess that makes sense, but can he do that? Wouldn't that require burning a year of eligibility, which he doesn't have?

And it seems like a waste to do it for senior year. Why not just finish, and get a degree. It seems unlikely he's headed for the pros, so jumping ship after three years is just a weird choice.

Dunno. Just guessing out loud.

Re: Boston University 2010 Offseason I - The Year after the Year after effect

Since 2005, there have been 32 NCAA players (either incoming freshman or rising sophomores) selected in the first round of the NHL Draft. Of those 32, only 2 have left before the end of their sophomore year. Phil Kessel left Minnesota for the Bruins after his freshman season, and Jim O'Brien left Minnesota for the WHL after his freshman year. Given the one-and-done mentality of our bouncyball counterparts, I'd say this is a very good sign for college hockey, and also a good indication that Coyle isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

I believe you missed at least one; Kyle Okposo left Minnesota halfway through his sophomore year after being drafted 7th overall in 2006.

Wow. That's... odd. I wonder why?

Maybe focusing on academics and thinking he's got no shot at playing next year? It does seem odd.

Unrelated:

Students (or at least students with the student season tickets) just got a email with a survey about the in stadium experience at HAA this year, which is actually very cool that they are (at least considering) making changes based on our input, and I do urge every student who reads here to take the survey, and not just fill out check boxes but leave detailed comments about what you would like improved and what you don't want them to change.

....well that was a long introduction, my actual question was did you non endzone season ticket holders get a similar questionnaire?

I wish I had - I'd have ripped my blue polo shirted guardian a new one. He stood through the entire last few minutes of the game (last game on the season mind you) totally obscuring my view as well as the view of the people around me. I sit in a non-student section the people behind me are alums with a baby, the people next to me are 10+year alums as at the people in front of me, ( I sit near the dámn DOS for pete's sake) and there weren't any students anyway since it was Spring Break (or at least fewer students).

I didn't. Not yet, anyway.

i asked this last summer - what a guy the same age as Parker would bring?.. people older than i ( ) that know him typed that he had great contacts in ontario and would be able to provide top level recruits.

I realize you may be exaggerating for effect, but Powers is 7 years (approx) younger than JP.

Email him. I can not urge this enough, and this goes for everyone here. They are reaching out for students input on everything from the quality of individual food items, to the politeness of the First Aid staff, to if you could change one thing about the Arena what would it be. If you have ever had a complaint with them before on anything and failed to voice it, and you represent a higher net present value than us, and you choose not to spend 5 minutes writing them an email you are dooming yourself and everyone else to more of the same.

i know... but to a 18-20 yo, 87=80

:D

By and large, I agree with you. I mean no slam to Buddy Powers, but until proven otherwise, there's a gap in what Quinn brought to the recruiting. With that said, does anyone know for sure that BP was added to the program expressly for recruiting?

now i don't know.....

but that is what the asst coaches do. i know i check to see before every game who is on the bench that night. Jack is always there. bavo and quinn (buddy), not all the time.

they are the ones on the road. looking. talking.

expressly.

they recruit.

I take note of the same thing. I was struck last season, by how infrequently (I didn't keep count, just observation) Powers was away compared to Quinn in previous seasons.

Thanks! I will most definitely take the time to shoot him a line.
No, that's not it.
Oooh -- I sense a story. Can you be bribed with a Kelly's sandwich from the Kelly's on the Beach? :p

Speaking of which, they're turning the old Marty's Liquor in Allston into a Kelly's. I live right around the corner. I'm already salivating. The diet I've been on is going to last about as long as BUTerror's credibility.

If I didn't have one 100 ft. from my house, I'd be jealous. Thank goodness they didn't have that when I lived in Allston/Brighton!

This is the best news I've heard in, like... ever. I literally just lost focus at my desk for like 3 solid minutes just thinking about this.
