Re: Boston University 2010-11 Part III - Is That So Much To Ask?

Two things:

1.) Dear men's hockey team, Please stay together for at least one more season. While I haven't given up on this year, I think next year could be memorable if you all come back to Comm Ave.

2.) I hope you win the quarters in two games so I don't have to come back to Agganis on Sunday. Two men's hockey games, one women's game (looking forward to go back to WBA), and two hoop games in three days are quite enough.

Should be an exciting weekend to be a Terrier fan, to say the least.

So what is the over/under on attendance for:

Men's Hockey Thrus Night?
Men's Hockey Friday Night?
Men's Basketball?
Women's Hockey?
Women's Basketball?
Mens Hockey Sunday Night (if needed)?

The only one possibly ready to go is 9 and he has no plans to. It's a very small class of people ready to leave after one year, one that did not even include Wilson, or Kreider, and 3 is not where either of them were at the end of their freshmen campaigns. 5 regressed this year, and is still an undersized defenseman. IMO (have no inside sources on this) most likely to leave is 35 since he needs some PT if he wants to develop and if he values the degree he could still get it if he takes classes this summer and next.

In order:
1. 5000- There should be plenty of students there so hopefully those sections fill up but obviously less families/people in the real world in attendance than on a weekend
2. 5000- There will be less students but alot more families and real world people in the building so I think that offsets the lack of students
3. 1500- This is a bit of a hopeful number because the students never go to these games anyway so I would think alot of people will want to see a conference championship game and maybe a few students stay. I know quite a bit who are staying a day later to go to the game
4. 600
5. 1000- Conference championship game on a Sat night should draw pretty well
6. 4700- No students left but with two boston schools it should be pretty full otherwise

Re: Boston University 2010-11 Part III - Is That So Much To Ask?

Just after recording his 850th career win, Jack Parker sat down with BU alum and WHDH-TV Sports Director Joe Amorosino to answer questions about his career, special players who have worn Scarlet and White, memorable games, the future outlook, issues regarding players, recruiting and rules changes, and some personal goals. Question were submitted by BU staff, alumni and several readers of and contributors to The Terrier Hockey Fan Blog.

The interview was posted on BU Extra in short (http://www.bu.edu/bostonia/web/parker4/) and long versions (http://www.bu.edu/buniverse/view/?v=gImYUYJ).

This is why I am so disappointed that we may not make the NCAAs this year. With 2009 being a notable exception, it is pretty rare that a team goes from not being in the NCAA's to winning it all. Even one game provides valuable experience. Making it to the FF, even more so.

Re: Boston University 2010-11 Part III - Is That So Much To Ask?

In the interview, Parker mentioned Yasin Cisse.... I had totally forgotton about him. What's the story? He is coming back next year as a redshirt freshman or something? FL? Hammer?

He'll be back as a redshirt freshman. Asked Parker about him a week or two ago and he said the trainers and doctors are all very happy with his progress so far and that it looks like he's definitely on schedule to be ready for the start of the year. That said, Parker noted that no matter how well his rehab's going, they can't be certain that he'll be 100% until he actually gets back out there and plays. Parker said it's just such a sensitive area that they really won't know anything for sure until he really starts testing it out.

What was the injury?

Re: Boston University 2010-11 Part III - Is That So Much To Ask?

Achilles tendon was last year? I think it was the ankle this year I believe but he had surgery on it and was on crutches for quite a while

Thats what I remember... An ankle injury that was going to be a month or so at first... and dont remember hearing anything since.... good to hear that he should be back though.

What he ended up having surgery on this year was the same tendon that he tore last year. I don't think it was the Achilles' tendon, but I could be wrong about that. Originally, it was thought that the Ice Breaker injury had nothing to do with last year's injury. Parker classified it as a twisted ankle at first. It was only after the swelling went down that they realized the same tendon was torn again.

On a related note, while I was going back to re-read our stories on Cisse, I had completely forgotten that Parker had told us that Cisse wouldn't even be coming this year after last season. It wasn't until the summer that the plan changed back to him coming this year.
