Re: Boston University 2010-11 Part III - Is That So Much To Ask?

Not quite yet...he has to find a fanboy actually wearing it now. Happy googling

that shirt was on sale at the bu bookstore and its agganis satellite store for about a few months around 2007. it was immediately met with boos from multiple students who would walk by it, no one ever bought one at the arena, and I didn't personally ever see anyone wearing one around campus or at a game. they were remarkably dumb, the dean of students office made a call at one point to the bookstore telling them as much. perhaps kids somewhere in africa are now bu superfans.

Gilroy has looked excellent on teh powerplay today for the blueshirts -I feel dirty writing that.

Stop singing Rick *** Astley, watch the game and chant something derogatory about Jerry York.

rick astley is old, it was designed to be done very, very sporadically but then the band played it every game and it lost its luster. oh well, at least more people join in.

Can we get any of those kids for the student section this weekend?

Ya, that would be so cool.

Yeah I have to agree with JD here which is weird saying but what would you suggest we chant? Like its easy for Cronin with the violations and stuff but what has York done? We may not like the guy but we respect him enough to leave him alone. The same goes with BC fans with Parker I would think. I don't think I have heard a chant for either coach at any games I have ever been to.

SteveF wins again.

"He's my pal, too, 'cause he's so big, and strong!"

I don't get how the possible men's basketball championship game would interfere with the hockey game. I was just on America East's website and the conference championship game is scheduled for 12:02 p.m. The arena can't turn around the arena in time for the hockey game? Make the hockey game at 7:30 or 8 if more time is needed! I thought it may be because of the women's championship game, but it is at Case Gym according to goterriers.com.

could be that parker doesn't want to risk bad ice conditions with two quick changeovers in between games. and they'd have to get the tv crew out, the fans out, hope it doesn't go into overtime, etc.

You are new here aren't you? :D

That or what the area management might just know they can't handle it. Last time this was a possibility, I did a bit of homework about going from ice to basketball and vice versa in these types of multi use arenas... and it is harder to go from basketball to ice than it is from ice to basketball.... and when I looked at the schedule for the TG Garden, I found that without exception, if both the Celtics and Bruins played on the same day, the Bruins had the matinee game.

And yet, they manage to pull it off at Matthews 3 or 4 times a year, often with the basketball game starting at 1 PM.

Hey I'd want to get the court out of there ASAP too to forget the memories of having just gotten wiped all over it by Hofstra or Georgia State.

They have a lot more experience! That is interesting though... I never thought to check arenas other than TD Garden...

Actually we are one step closer to finding out... UVM lost so if BU wins tonight, then BU hosts.

So is concern about the ice conditions the problem?

That's my guess. That they'd be worried about something going wrong or not going smoothly since that quick turnaround would be something new for everyone involved. It just seems like a risk, however minor, that no one wants to take.

and if the game goes into overtime, they're screwed even more.
