Re: Boston University 2010-11 Part III - Is That So Much To Ask?

I understand that. I just don't want to come here to read that they don't get into the tourney because Wisconsin lost to CC, or whatever. If they don't make it into the NCAAs, it's because of letting those wins slip away.

IF I WANT TO BLAME BRETT BENNETT, GD IT!! I AM GOING TO BLAME BB!!!!!

(there, now we feel better... :D)

Re: Boston University 2010-11 Part III - Is That So Much To Ask?

Why the hell was Bennett even playing? Gudmandson hurt?

Was thinking about this earlier, but when's the last time a team needed to win the HE tourney to make the NCAAs...and did it? I can't remember it happening in the current 16 team format, but someone correct me if I'm wrong. Anyway, I imagine if either BU or Maine make it to the HE final, they will be high enough up in the PWR to solidify a spot even if they lose.

Re: Boston University 2010-11 Part III - Is That So Much To Ask?

Well, I'm sorry, but this team just has not played with a sense of urgency all year. We blew the chance to finish 2nd, and only because Merrimack lost their third out of four did we hold on to third (so we at least avoid BC if we get to the Garden). But now we are stuck with probably three more games against Northeastern, when we could have had Vermont. It's difficult to be real optimistic - it's great to keep saying "if they do this" and "if they do that," but now we realistically have to win the Hockey East Tournament. That means first getting past NU, then probably having to beat UNH (unless they get upset in the first round) and then BC on back-to-back nights. I won't be holding my breath for that...

Re: Boston University 2010-11 Part III - Is That So Much To Ask?

CAN WE STOP WITH THE POSTGAME SENIOR NIGHT ALREADY?!?! ****ING STUPID!!

JOE DESERVES BETTER. HE SHOULDN'T HAVE TO STAND THERE AND LET EVERYONE WHO REMAINED SEE HIM COUNT THE PEOPLE IN THE STANDS.

THE GOD ****ED NU KIDS GOT MORE RECOGNITION AND LOUDER APPLAUSE FROM THE 'CROWD' (and they deserved as much). BUT FOR THEIR HOME GAME THE BU GUYS DESERVE AT LEAST THE SAME COURTESY.

MORE PEOPLE SAW THE JOE P HOSPITAL VIDEO AT THE FOH BANQUET IN 09 THAN SAW HIM WITH HIS PARENTS TONIGHT. ****ING EMBARRASSMENT.

OF ALL THE THINGS THE OLD MAN HAS SCREWED UP THIS YEAR, THIS SADLY IS THE WORST. I DIDN'T LIKE IT WHEN HE BROUGHT IT DOWN FROM VERMONT. I DISLIKE IT MORE NOW. I FEEL SO BAD THAT THESE TWO KIDS (AND THE TEAM MANAGERS TOO) HAD TO STAND THROUGH THIS. THEY SHOULD HAVE THE HONOR OF STANDING THERE BEFORE A FULL OR ALMOST FULL HOUSE PUMPED AND READY TO GO BEFORE THE GAME.

THIS HAD BEST NOT HAPPEN AGAIN. I AM TRULY SORRY IT HAD TO HAPPEN TO THESE FINE YOUNG PEOPLE.

(finished, for now...:mad::mad::mad:)

Re: Boston University 2010-11 Part III - Is That So Much To Ask?

Would someone please explain the difference between a power play and a 4 on 4 to the people that work the Agganis video screens?

While you're at it, tell them to stop putting up stupid statistics like "OMG BU HASN'T LOST A HOME GAME IN 8 GAMES!!!" that are practically built to jinx us.

Re: Boston University 2010-11 Part III - Is That So Much To Ask?

While we're ranting, I've had it up to here with the "they" crap. And, if you think you're team takes too many penalties, do the **** something about it!

(go read the game story if you don't know what I'm talking about.)

Re: Boston University 2010-11 Part III - Is That So Much To Ask?

How long has BU been doing the senior night festivities after the game? Who else does that? Just UVM? Does seem a bit silly.

Harvard does it postgame as well. More informal though.

Re: Boston University 2010-11 Part III - Is That So Much To Ask?

How're you doing today, Mook? You didn't put your foot through the tv, did you? :o The sun came up, right? Hey, Colgate surprised Rensselaer to force a Game Three; if they can do it again tonight that helps us. Some. A little.

Re: Boston University 2010-11 Part III - Is That So Much To Ask?

"All series will start on Friday, March 11 with the exception of Boston University, which may start its series on Thursday night due to a possible scheduling conflict at Agganis Arena on Saturday (series would be played Thurs., Fri., Sun or Fri, Sat., Sun.)."

Possible scheduling conflict at Agganis Arena? AE Championships maybe?

yes, thats the only thing since the game would be on espn, and they can't televise from the roof i guess. we'll know tom. thu-sun would be GREAT.

That and A.E. has a rule about minimum capacity requirement for hosting the championship game... and the Roof isn't big enough.

I'm not sure exactly, but I remember they did it postgame in '04 Fields / Mullen / Skladany's senior year. I also don't know if it was done before that, or if it has been that way every year since then?

Re: Boston University 2010-11 Part III - Is That So Much To Ask?

And Mookie's right. Change that.

Depends on what the basketball team does today.
