Re: Boston University 2010-11 Part III - Is That So Much To Ask?

bucky is beating cc in the 3rd. if that continues, AND bucky wins tomorrow night to sweep- bu will have a better TUC than cc and pass them. (we will 'pass' them tonight, as the bucky game becomes a CoP and our 0-1-0 rpi record, which is losing to their 1-0-1 rpi record, becomes .500 each... but we'll need bucky to win tomorrow to make it stick)

Well that disappeared quickly..

We have to root for BC tonight, right? If BC and BU win, BU finishes in 2nd. (Due to head-to-head tiebreaker vs. UNH.)

Mpereira, even some of your own hate you. Keep up the good work.

Absolutely correct. This does a couple of things...we get to play a much lower seeded team in the quarterfinals (and avoid Maine or Northeastern) and we avoid BC until the HE finals. I still believe, however, that we are NOT getting in via the PWR route - we will have to win the tournament outright. But if we have to play Northeastern AGAIN next weekend, I'm afraid there won't be anybody left. Last night was brutal (of course, the referees never took control of that game from the outset) and the intensity will only escalate if we end up playing them five games in a row! Here's a question, though. Does HE RESEED the teams after the first round? Because the way UNH is playing, they may not even be around for the Garden.

Who got hurt for bu last night? Any hint at when warsofsky might be back?

There is never an accurate hint on when someone with a head injury will be back. My guess is Quarters at the earliest, but I'll bet (should they advance) we don't see him until the Garden.

Yes, Hockey East reseeds for the semifinals.

Awesome, I'm glad he said it. Of course, BU fans are usually such terrible fans that it will only make an impact on the die-hards, who are the ones already showing up.

The thing of it is, is that when Section 8 was the student section, there was a limited number of room, and even Section 7 was small too, which meant that it was easy to have a loud number of die-hards. The move into a bigger arena has killed that selectivity and resulted in a student section that is mostly disengaged. Although I'd guess that Section 8 and 7 combined are roughly as big as 118, so that's not a really good excuse.
