All these HEA games, one loses, one wins. We play them all so it nets out.

True, but I think Maine staying a TUC and NU becoming a TUC helps BU more than UNH or MC dropping a couple spots hurts them. Especially since BU lost the series to MC anyway.

Are you sure about that?

So if that is true, then if you ran the PWR formula for the in conference season / games only, the results would mirror the conference point standings?

Since we can clinch home ice this weekend on our own, it would be far better for us if ME and NU won this weekend. Not to mention they play teams ahead of us in the standings, but since it appears likely that one of those two would be our QF opponent, home or away, that many more games against a TUC in the QF would give us an opportunity to bolster our subpar TUC record, which is really holding us back in a few pairs.

Re: Boston University 2010-11 Part III - Is That So Much To Ask?

So, it won't hurt SOS since it is a net wash within the conference and we might get 1-2 additional TUC's on our schedule and possibly play one of them in the QF's...I think that means GO Bears and GO Huskies this weekend. At least I'll know if I should be happy or sad when I review the scores.

this thread fell off the first page - unacceptable my friends.

is the conventional thought that bu takes both this weekend? i'd like to think that's the case, anyways

Brian Strait was called up by the Penguins and makes his NHL debut tonight vs. the Caps on Versus. It'll make 8 members of the 2009 NCAA champs to play in the NHL. :)
He's a defenseman, though, so he doesn't count.:(

They just write it off.

They better take both if they want to keep any hope of gaining an at-large bid without some serious help on the last weekend. Two wins are a must and I would think 3 points is the minimum for next weekend against NU.

Awfully quiet here on the BU thread...everybody out calculating what if's on PWR??

Maybe everybody is saying there really isn't much to say...they either win or we start waiting for opening day.

{sigh}

Isn't that what the first 395 posts on this thread was about?

Thats a good idea though... make a coach retire after just winning his 850th game.

I'm pretty fired up that we're the 4th rated program of all time. Someone needs to print a t-shirt.
