On the last minute non-goal, Bucky was claiming it went in off a knee, not a skate. With no replay shown on the stream, it was impossible to determine. The ref definiterly waived it off immediately, and evidently, none of the other three refs/linesman saw it any differently.

Thanks for that earlier officiating analysis, mook. I was surprised how much complaining there was on here from Wisconsin fans. I chalked it up to a combination of: frustration at losing their 1st game of the year, specific adjustments people are going through on the new no-hits-to-the-head rules, and a general whiny malaise that's been growing amongst the WCHA folks after four straight years of bupkis at the Frozen Four. :D

John McCarthy skated for SJ in their seaon opener today.

Now he could easily be back in The Woo at some point, maybe soon. But what a nice story when you consider all the guys who were recruited ahead of him and were more highly regarded than him who aren't in the NHL and may never be there.

Well ladies and gentlemen...That's a good start!!!

Who knows how good Wisco and ND are (or anyone else) but 2-0 isn't too shabby.

The frosh seem like they can play and the squad is putting the puck in the net.

Hopefully the D improves and the team maintains focus.

See you all at Agganis this weekend.

these kids arent so bad they might not be the best in the conference and have some kinks to work out but theyve sure got some fight and hustle in their step. im excited to see what they can do this season.

Most years, maybe. But last season they were 0-2 in the first two games, having only scored twice. This year they've potted 9 -- and without two of their supposed guns.

Very nice start to the season. A nice weekend away to bond and two confidence building wins (with solid contributions from the new guys and the forgotten goalie.)
