Six hours of hockey today!

Go USA!
Go BU!

ZCohen has the toughness to be an awesome ECHL guy. He could end up dominating that league.

Not sure if he has the speed to make it in the AHL.

My thoughts exactly. Borderline AHLer at most, despite how great his game is, he just doesn't have the foot speed or raw talent to go with all of that effort of his.

Have you ever seen 2 points separating home ice from DNQ after 24 HE games?
Amazing

Yeah, but Yip is still a much better skater than Zach and is a much more well rounded player. I really like Zach but I just think his talent is more ECHL than AHL. He has turned into a solid player, but I don't look at him and see someone who's better or more versatile than a guy like Brian McConnell was at BU. The biggest difference between him and Mac is that Mac came in with huge expectations, so he's easier to view as a disappointment, while Cohen had no expectations so what he's done the last two years is just gravy.

FWIW, a few weeks ago I bumped into a former colleague of mine who is now an NHL scout. I inquired as to who he was looking at and amongst others he mentioned Zach in terms of free agency. I am thrilled for the way he has improved in his time here. Plus he is a real good kid also.

That's kind of neat, nice to see a player go from scrub to potential professional. I suppose that foot speed will be a problem in his professional career, though.

I'd be very happy to be proved wrong on this count. I still doubt that he could be an effective NHLer or possibly even AHLer, but I'm hardly in the talent evaluation business.

I am sure a summer working on that with a strength and conditioning coach can show some improvement

I thought I had already posted this here, but apparently that was the BU-UVM thread. Anyway, we're gonna have a live blog of today's women's playoff game, too. I know, I mentioned women's hockey. Sue me.

Also, bump.

Re: Boston University 2009-2010 Season Thread III: From the Beanpot until the end...

So, did Gaudet do anything in particular to get in the dog house? Looked like he was benched for most of the game Friday and is now riding the 4th line here Sunday.

Re: Boston University 2009-2010 Season Thread III: From the Beanpot until the end...

That was 3.5 hours of my life I won't get back.

They didn't even try this weekend. Not even a little.

Millan looked like he was playing on roller skates both games. Talk about being out of position and fighting off the puck.

Parker left him in way too long Friday.

What happened with the lines? I know Trivino is hurt but why change every single line up?

Whatever mojo they had against maine was completely lost...as is this season.

Re: Boston University 2009-2010 Season Thread III: From the Beanpot until the end...

The Terriers are now 1-3 since Trivino got hurt. And have not been playing as well as they were prior to him getting hurt. While he may not have been the superstar of the team, I think his getting hurt screwed up the lines and that has screwed up with how the team had been playing. If that makes sense.

*sigh*

That was not pleasant to watch. What to expect next weekend??
