Great to see Shatty and Nick both up for the Hobey. I am surprised to see Chay Genoway, he has had a concussion and unable to play since October. Don't get me wrong, the guy if healthy definately deserves it.
Shout out to Yip and MaCarthy!
Article on Wilson explains alot about what has happened this season. We all knew he was ready to move to the next level.

Re: Boston University 2009-2010 Season Thread II: Still got a pulse, time for CPR

The "BOSTON" across the front of the BU sweater is similar to that on the sweat suits BU wore in the early '90's, if memory serves me well. In font and size, that is.

Your memory does serve you well:

The font on front resembled that worn by the Boston Red Sox on their home jerseys, and the hanging skates shoulder-patch tribute to the Red Sox’ alternate logo was a particular fitting touch. The design was almost entirely the idea of head coach Jack Parker, as the Terriers used to wear warm-up jackets with a similar font in the late-1980s and early-1990s. He and equipment manager Mike DiMella worked with some of the team’s equipment providers to make the vision a reality. And if you’re hoping to get your hands on one … too bad. The idea behind the special design was so that the team members would always have something to hold on to and remember the experience.

ok, over/under on when we see the first home-made, slightly off, not quite there, BU Fenway jersey on a fan at Agganis. I'm going to say January 29.

In all seriousness, these need to be made into at least a t-shirt or something. Too much cash potential (and sheer awesomness) to let these slip into obscurity or be banished to the back of some players closet forever.

As per my usual request: Sell them and donate some proceeds to Travis Roy foundation.

Posted this on the alumni forum, but repeated here because I was quite impressed by Brandon's quote.

NHL.com piece on Yip

"Last season helped out tremendously, I think, in my career and my life," says Yip, who had 43 points and 118 penalty minutes in 45 games last season for the Terriers.

"It changed my work ethic around, being around a team with great leadership. Everyone was pulling for the same goal. It was pretty special to be part of that. I definitely learned a lot from it."

Not too shocking, as coming into last year he was easily the senior I was most down on. He had skated two injured years, yes, but also played with a lethargy and indifference that far outpaced his talent. It was apparent very early on last year that the Yip of soph and jr. years had been replaced by the player we thought we were getting after his first year. He took a couple bad penalties last year, but there wasn't a single game the whole way where I doubted his effort. He went into that year as one of my least favorite players and exited as a guy I'm proud to have watched play for our team.

Yesterday I posted on the blog about the 5 biggest crowds to ever see a BU game having taken place in the past 26 months.

Besides Scarlet (mais oui), who else can claim they were at all five?

Frozen Fenway vs. Boston College at Fenway Park 1-8-10 Att. 38,472
NCAA Championship Game vs. Miami at Verizon Center, Washington D.C., 4-11-09 Att. 18,512
NCAA Semifinal vs. Vermont at Verizon Center, Washington D.C., 4-19-09 Att 18,512
Red Hot Hockey II vs. Cornell at Madison Square Garden, 11-28-09 Att. 18,200
Red Hot Hockey I vs. Cornell at Madison Square Garden, 11-24-07 Att. 18,200

I was unfortunately only at four of the five. I was studying abroad for the first Red Hot Hockey (and I was so ****ed that I had to miss it when I found out it was happening!).

I have, I think this will actually be a surprisingly high percentage as probably 50-70% of the posters were at all of the first 3 games listed.

Re: Boston University 2009-2010 Season Thread II: Still got a pulse, time for CPR

Given the move down south that literally took place during the FF, I am sad to say I only made it to the oldest one on the list :(

Poor timing on my part...

I unfortunatley saw only the first and last ones on the list... not to split hairs... but did 18,512 really see the semifinal game (I imagine there were some fans of Miami or Benji who were in attendance for only thier game?)

I'd have to say that those numbers will probablly hold as the high numbers for quite a long time!
