Alright, got the audio posted -- link in the signature. As I say on the blog, you have to download the audio, which is a pain, I understand. It's the best I can do for now, anybody with some Blogger expertise is more than welcome to offer some advice...

For those with NHL Network, 2011 defense recruit Alexx Privitera is playing for the U-17 team against Canada-Ontario in the gold medal game of the World U-17 Challenge.

Another USA defenseman, Michael Paliotta (#54) from Choate, was reportedly on BU's radar, too. I wouldn't mind BU adding F Rocco Grimaldi to the growing California Corps. (Nicastro, Santana, Nieto).

His whole line has looked very good. Tyler Biggs (Miami) has 2 goals, Reid Boucher (MSU) has 2 assists and Grimaldi has 1 assist.

I haven't really noticed Privitera too much, but I've also been going back and forth between this and the B's-Rangers, so I've probably missed a bunch of his shifts.

I think a Winter Classic of NY vs. NJ, or Philly vs. Pitt, would be terrible for ratings outside of the immediate geographic area.

Minnesota would be good. TCF Bank stadium would be the best since it's not subject to the NFL schedule, plus they could tie in a Gophers game.

If they did Caps-Pens, they could fill FedEx Field, but it's probably too warm in DC.

And there wouldn't be enough time to set up the rink. No way they get the Redskins to agree to play their final two games on the road which is what they'd need, and even that would be cutting it close.

Pitt has plenty of bandwagon Crosby fans throughout the country, you'll see the jerseys in every NHL arena, they get very good ratings when they're on nationally. The Flyers draw a ton of ratings as well, and not just in USA and Canada, but for some reason have one of the biggest international followings as well (not that NBC gives a crap about that). People like to watch that rivalry too (more than even I understand) because they think there's more history and bad blood than there really is. I still think it will be a few more years before that happens though. Washington HAS to be involved in the next one or the league will freak out.

I think it's cool that the game is getting this kind of publicity across the country. I also found it a bit odd that the writer in the Denver story didn't add that head coach Joe Sacco is also a BU alum. :)

Say what you want about the legitimacy of the bad blood, etc., but the players seem to embrace the rivalry more than in a lot of good rivalries. They played a game a couple weeks back and the teams dropped the gloves three times in 17 seconds in the first period.

Yet, in the Boston Globe.... *crickets*

Re: Boston University 2009-2010 Season Thread II: Still got a pulse, time for CPR

because the Globe thinks college hockey exists only at Beanpot time and somewhat if BC or BU are in NCAA Frozen Four , IMO.........sad

Welcome back Warso! See you all Friday!

at least the globe doesn't think BU, BC, UNH, and NU play in the Big East like the NY Post.

Some notes from media day at Fenway today in the signature below.

Not included is just how cold it was out there once the sun went down. Four layers were not keeping my upper body comfy...the heated press box is going to be nice :-)

Somehow I missed when he got hired. So when I read that Yip article, I had the "Coach Joe Sacco?!?!?" moment. :o

Might have to get me a Yip/Avs jersey.

Welcome back Warso! See you all Friday!

Based on his performance at the WJC, US hockey can keep him as far as I'm concerned. I don't think he even got in the lineup for the championship game (I wasn't able to watch it) - the only box score I could find listed 20 guys but two didnt have any points, penalties, shots or a +/- and he was one of them.

Re: Boston University 2009-2010 Season Thread II: Still got a pulse, time for CPR

He did.

He had two tournovers that didn't result in a goal. Other than that he played decently.
